The best part is that I called you as leading the vote by today.

I worked hard on this, if anybody reads it please acknowledge so somehow, perhaps we could have a civilized discussion about my list?
Boredom is a beautiful thing, if used the right way. Misused, it leads to terrible abominations of nature that have no right to waste the precious oxygen other living things require to survive... this is not one of those deformed peices, thankfully. I'm glad you took up the offer.

And I'm always up for a civilized, or uncivilized, discussion.

Uh if they used vanilla syrup.. Slap them in the face.. hard. Its supposed to be hand made caramel that you put into the mold before you place the pudding in.. if you had my flan.. you wouldnt be dissapointed. No one has been, ever.

Seriously.. eating establishments dont take the time now-a-days needed for an amazing flan. It's supposed to be rich in flavor, whether it be vanilla, chocolate, or my specialty, coffee..and nice in presentation.

If your flan has bubbles on the sides (if it is not the sponge pastry version of Flan, found in Britain), then it is overdone.. If your flan is dark brown on top, the caramel is burnt. if your flan refuses to hold its shape and is nothing but a pile of mush, the gelatin wasnt absorbed correctly and/or its undercooked.

The expression "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" fits well here, because my name is Jack. However, sometimes I think that if I'm spending the better part of an hour to write a small report on the tastiness of foods just because somebody on a forum about a server in a game asked for such, it might mean I have to go back to the "work" part. :p

Now that Flanny's here, the topic has shifted to the taste of flan, as it logically should. But perhaps one of you would like to weigh in on whether or not pancakes are the best breakfast pastry? To play devil's advocate, I will say that I think they are.

Waffles. Homemade. On a Sunday morning after a night of dancing and indulgences. With whipped butter and local honey or strawberries fresh from the garden depending on the season.

That's a best case scenario. But think of this:

Why did that hotel company use a waffle pressed by an iron to form the connotation of a very horrible breakfast? To those who don't understand this, it was a commercial.

Fair enough, fictional baked good time. The scary part here is whoever made this was srs.

I don't think I've ever had baked pancakes or waffles. As far as breakfasty stuff that is actually baked, gotta go with muffins. Chocolate, blueberry, or orange cranberry, please. :3

PM me your address. You need some baked pancakes ASAP.

Also, our taste in muffins is nearly identical, though I see you left out Butter Rum and Pistachio... I'll have to bring some along.

Varies, but I most commonly lean towards bird in a nest pancakes when I bother making anything. Late night meals with friends tend to end with eggs, specifically French toast.

Best baked good hands down? Muffins. Deliciously versatile things, muffins. Go ahead. Make muffins filled with bits bacon and scrambled eggs. Top it with cheese. That's barely the beginning. With muffins, you can add basically anything, or several anythings. Nuts. Vegetables. Meats. Crackers. Sweets. Take your pick.

Create an entire meal themed around different muffins. Be creative. Take chances, experiment recklessly with your Day of the Muffin.
