You have clearly never met the VVolfpack my friend.

I would be an active part of this, although this said I wouldn't leave my guild to join another guild but a massive community city sounds like fun. I'm in.

If you need inspiration, just look at the Mindcrackers on YouTube. They're all friends, and kill each other from time to time. It's a perfect recipe for something like this. :P

I'm impressed by VVolfpack and Rising destiny saying they all live together... but do you really work together? This is a project about bringing everyone together to achieve something big. Perhaps this wouldn't be a place to live, but hopefully it would be a project long enough to bring everyone who cares together.

Here are just a few of the porblems with the city idea that some people may have:
•Some of us are control freaks. We love to expand in every direction, have permission for everything and so on and so forth. So some people may not like how the builds on seperate plots contrast and so on.. although personally I dont think that will be a problem. Spawn city looks nice even though there are lots of contrasting builds.
•Whenever I think of a community build I think that everyone with have permissions to every realm (although this probably isnt ideal for many reasons you are already thinking of). Unless everyone was really tight-knit and there was a lot of trust I dont think this would happen. But then again, who can be sure.
•Finally, people like the independence of having their own cities so they can control how everything looks and so on. Personally, independence is nice but it doesn't beat the wholesome, accomplished feeling of being part of a community.

Anyways, I've saved up about 120k for wipe realms, but id be just as happy to spend them on the community city instead. In fact, thanks mitchie for bringing this up because I think its just what a lot of us builders need.
Personally I think that a lot of the builds at spawn are very impressive... but combined it's nothing special. It's a place where people show off their building prowess. I wouldn't want that for a city like this. We need to strike a good balance between independence and control for this to work. It's important that we build something unified, together, and not just fill our individual realms with our own things. This is about working together, not living together.

A good example of this would be the medieval district at Xeros.

It's definitely a smaller scale project, but everything is themed correctly, and it was a Xeros community project. And it was successful, no doubt.

If something like this were to start rolling, I would gladly like to take part in it. I think it would be a great way to bring to community together.

Well let me put it in prospective for you. :)
VVolfpack has been a guild for years now, and we do a lot more than just play minecraft together. But I guess I'll start with our minecraft antics.
For the most part we all live together in very very large groups. or have places to stay if we don't live together.
http://map.minerealm.com/map/#/788/64/-4589/-4/0/0

See this hunk of land? Yeah that's almost all us with the exception of Cancer who refuses to take my offerings of love. Also please ignore the ugly land in the middle. >.> *stares at austinhenkel*
Up here we don't work much together but we like to visit each other. :3 Look at Neuro's beautiful build! And my land I refuse to touch but work on underneath. ;) Jack is over off in the west with some of his builds. If you ask "But VV, what's that giant ugly circle thing? Or the sand square off in the east?" My answer would be I haven't the slightest idea. You'll notice another ugly circle off to the south, perhaps minerealm has herpes and truly needs the wipe.

This chunk of land is a mixture between a megabuild project (currently paused until the map wipe) and the city of Hillgrove where a lot of us live. Here we all work together, our subway, builds, terraforming, mobs, resources, etc. Are basically all shared as long as you ask. Like my pretty bloo house in the middle?!

At spawn we have a large chunk of land together (which has broken up a bit over the past year) but for the most part it's remained the same. There we have our storage, our underground build, farms, the vvolfpack tower, Gurren Lagann, etc. All connected and such. We all worked hard to clear out underneath our realms in order to build something down below in the future. :3

A few of our other members work together here.

Now that we have the nether road we spend a lot more time visiting each other and helping each other when we can. Which is great, knowing how many people we have that have your back no matter what for the most part.
Outside of minecraft we play a variety of games together. We spend a lot of time on skype in calls, or just chatting. We've been friends for so long I consider these people my family for the most part. Hell the majority of these guys have my number. lol What makes a successful guild is the connection you make with your guild members, and having a relationship that extends beyond the borders of minecraft/minerealm. So sometimes we aren't constantly working together. (at the same time) we all work, have school, other life duties that need attending to. But we've stuck together through thick and thin, and I wouldn't trade these guys for all the money in the world. That my friends, is what makes a good community. Not just the intention to work together, dat community feel.

I think the real purpose of this is to bring MINEREALM people together, instead of being a guild. I would love to see people from ALL guilds participating in a community build.

I'm in. I will help with realms once the operation gets going if needed. I'm not the richest player, but I can do my share I'm sure. :)
