I guess for the TL, DR crowd I'll be concise in the opening.
I don't plan to move unless forced to do so.
The precursor in this instance was the pigs I found right where the dirt hut stands. Initially I was considering walking the pigs 2000 blocks back to my realms on the border before I realized it was fruitless and decided to buy one realm there.
I had nearly 100k burning a hole in my pocket, and I've been really build blocked lately. I can't even start the house on the first plot of dirt I ever purchased. I've done plenty of other things, but nothing super great. I've had this idea to do a seasonal theme. I wanted to build a quiet village back in a nook in the trees, and recreate it through the seasons (as best I can) Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter. I still need to buy the two realms that extend into the snow biome to finish the build. Either way this was why I was in the initial region in the first place.
So after seeing the pigs, I sort of felt like it was meant to be (I was to understand pigs were kinda rare considering a thread about getting banned for using a pig spawner (not the point)) and tracked out the plots I needed.
It was about this point that I realized there was company in the area. They were north of where I wanted to be, and I looked at the overviewer and saw there was a ton of land to expand north, and I wasn't going to be offended if they butted up against my realms. I just wanted to build.
At this point I think I technically own more land than Vortex does on that peninsula. If Vortex was so inclined to own the whole area, why didn't they buy out the corners. I checked the whole back end before I bought more realms to make sure I wasn't sitting in between their realms, and I wasn't.
So I need to understand what I've done wrong here. I have a clear vision for a build I want to do, it's a relatively danger free walk from my Nether portal spawner to the one I have connecting the new realms, and it gets me on fresh dirt that I can easily work and I can actually build something neat that I have in my head.
Vortex never factored into my decision to be on that land, nor to buy it. If anything Vortex had me second guessing myself and where I wanted to be SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE of situations like this.
Oneman, I don't really have a problem with you. I've been turning off general chat when the PVP conversations go on and just refrain for selling or buying for a little while. I don't care if you get timed, out (I haven't bumped the thread, nor will I). I wrote that thread simply because I didn't want to be bothered by you about PVP anymore. I think it was DLGN that suggested Invis and ender chests to get through the nether safely. I will just start doing that and be extra careful if I ever want to get Wither Skulls.
I don't want to move off this land. If Oneman was entitled to it all, why didn't he have the money? Why didn't he track out his land. Come look at my realms, there is not one sign stating it's claimed by Vortex. Maybe this wont be a bad thing in the end, Who knows. All I'm going to end up doing is improving the area, so it's win/win for me. As it is as long as I can buy the realm that I have a sign on, and can buy the two on the very end of my realm plots in the snow biome, Vortex can have EVERYTHING else.
Either way, I meant to malice, I bought public land for myself to enjoy.
