Hello Minerealmers!
We're at the end of another year on our beloved hybrid of museum mixed with the latest Minecraft has to offer. We're going to have our yearly Secret Santa event which has been going almost as long as the server itself which just reached its 15th anniversary this past October.
The exciting thing is that I have people actually asking me about Secret Santa this year and not just veterans. We'll have some new faces in the event this year and here's to the promise of having more than single digit participants this year!
For those of you who've not participated before the ground rules are simple. I will take names from now until December 23rd and on Christmas Eve people will randomly assigned someone who also submitted their name and we'll try to set up all the presents around the Christmas tree at spawn. If your present is something that can't be put in a chest or box at spawn that's okay. Sometimes people get creative and make a location or treasure hunt out of it and that's exactly what people should do for this event! Its not about the rarity or sought after nature of the item(s) given as much as the necessity of the thought involved. Ask people who know the person what they might like to get. Annoying to collect build materials maybe with a thoughtful note with a written book are common ideas. Let your imagination guide you. If you need permissions to add your present to the ice rink I will add you as soon as I can.
My only stipulation is that you not forget that you participated because no one wants to feel left out/forgotten at Christmas even if its virtually! I know the holidays are hectic but you can let me know if you cannot follow through or also if you didn't get something. No one who participates will go home empty handed!
On another note I'm hoping/trying to bring a bit more life to my Christmas town area. Interiors and added details for shell buildings, villies in the square, snowmen (golems), and copper golems will give it a feeling population it never had when we first started it back in 2021. Been also trying my upmost to make sure that mobs are prevented by double(plus) layers of snow. I've been a bit busier than I thought I might be this Christmas helping my family clean up/set up for the season. I'll try to get done as much as I can with my helpers and hope people get the chance to visit as the surrounding area of Xmastown has really grown in 4 years.
In closing I'd just like to say that MR continues to be a fine place to make and maintain friendships and wonderful themed creations everyone close and anonymous can appreciate. Here's to many more years of it. I hope this time of year sees you content and if you are facing trials that they do not remain too tricky!
