I'm currently having problems getting a 4x4 piston door to work.
I know Finalmoe has working ones, but could someone point me in the direction of a working model as the ones I've tried from youtube fail to retract the blocks with the double extender

I've thought about making a 4x4 door myself in the near future, but its funny how you mention that youre having trouble with the double piston extender. Cause I have a tree machine that utilizes a double piston extender and it stopped working after about an hour of use. I reset the redstone, checked the delays, replaced the pistons themselves.

It was no use, the extender just won't bring the logs back 2 spaces, it only brings them back 1. It's probably some server incompatibility issue.

If all else fails, try changing its orientation. Rotate it 90 degrees and see if it works then.

That was one thought I had but was too tired to try out last night.
I built a 3x3 which uses a vertical double piston extender rather than the horizontal ones used on the 4x4 and that works great.

I can come take a loot at it.

Not 100% sure but some of the issues seem to be on the part of the you tuber who was rushing the 2nd part of the double extender. Instead I followed the first part of the extender but mirroring what was being described.

Either way it works and is pretty fast too.

Not sure if you found one, but I threw up a design I use for double piston doors. It's pretty simple, and I left it all exposed so you can how the redstone works and there's a few platforms. There's nothing underground, it's all on the surface. It's at -593, 4486. It may be a haul (It's out near Abyssus, if you take the Subway, there's a south branch on the NFN/Abyssus line (it ends at Vortex), take that until the first exchange and climb up (there's signs pointing to my realms on the way). It's out in the open, so once the map viewer updates, you might be able to make it out.
