The stuff handed to you isn't much. Barely enough to get a little wood faster, build a home, and mine a little. These items would run out quickly, giving you just enough stuff to fulfill basic minecraft needs. I like this idea, for newbie players.

This could help prevent noobs from semi griefing spawn removing torches and crap before they take thier run, to find a home.

Or it could give them the tools to do more faster without getting caught. Bit of a doubled-edged blade.

complainers, whiners, trolls, ect, get nothing. we only give a few start-up items to people who seam like they are actually interested in playing the game the right way. In addition to this, they have to preform a small service for the iron pic. sand is always needed for our glass monuments.
