I think this entire thing is a bit dumb.

Hydro misunderstood the auction, and backed out. Yes it was against the rules, but he was not aware, and in my opinion that's very easy to miss. I don't think he should be banned over something like this. It's not like he stole anyone's items.

It's a good rule to be in place, but is it really worth a ban? Hydro could of been nicer about it, but I do see his point. This isn't a big deal.

See this is the part 90% of the people around here dont seem to understand. He DID lose something.

Opportunity has value.

Time has value.

Stealing items is bannable but stealing time isnt? These matters are very easy to identify who is in the right. I have had my share of auctions and private sales in the last month and had literally half of my buyers bow out on me. Not everyone here wants to sit and wait around all day waiting to get paided. I spent more time waiting for people to pay(or not pay) than I spent actually getting the items with some people.

I agree with you on this, Agentred. In the grand scheme, it didn't start out as a big deal. If he in fact made a mistake, I was amenable to working with him and finding a resolution. I even wrote something to the effect of, "What would you like to do about it?" offering a way out. It was Hydrobud who took it to the next level. In game, he said it was false advertising, that it was an obvious scam, and then he intimated that what I had done could get ME banned. Once I sought advice in the forums for a method of mediation, he became insulting again.

He knows the rules of the auctions, he read the stipulations of my auction, he tried to back out of what he already agreed too, and then tried to place the blame on me. He made it a much bigger deal that it should have been.

The only one making this a big deal is you Falconis. Posting 2 separate threads is making a mountain out of a mole hill. I know staff will recognize harassment. You know what its like to log onto a game you enjoy, seeing everyone trying to prosecute you for whatever little technicalities they can bring up? Its extremely dis-heartening. I actually posted a thread trying to stand up for someone who was being harassed awhile ago(mainly by the same people commenting on this thread here). Only to become the same person I was trying to defend. Instead of being a bunch of vindictive little kids, why don't you just drop it instead of being a hypocrite and making this a big deal. This won't get you anywhere, I doubt they'll even ban me for it. Instead you want to blow up this thread so you can get as much attention as you can, resulting in someone's discomfort and ultimately dis-heartening a player to even want to communicate with the community. I feel harassed just by this thread going to the lengths that is has. Look at all the bias opinions expressed by the same people who have been harassing people all over this forum. Maybe you should reconsider in order to avoid further justifying your own hypocrisy. I'm willing to let this go, however if you keep harassing me like this, and if players still persist, I will spend all night if I have to writing ban requests for malicious conduct, and harassment. I can't even go in-game without people messaging me snide comments. I will start taking screen shots now of anyone else who feels they have the authority to message me in-game communicating their 'opinions' on a matter they have no relevancy to.

I don't mind apologizing. In fact it would be nice seeming as I can't even log in without people saying something to me.

I'm with Hydro on this. It's not that big of a deal, and he's getting a lot of hate for such a trivial thing. Its a sad thing if people have to get so uptight and angry about something that doesn't even exist outside of a video game. Nothing was lost, nothing was gained, and opportunity costs don't really exist in this game. That's a real-world thing. Saying that he lost out on time and opportunity is just trying to throw out any reason to get him banned just for the sake of getting him banned at this point. I have to say, this is one reason I don't get very involved in trading and community things. There are so many immature people here, who just don't handle things like adults. A mature adult would honor an agreement and pay for an auction they won.
