Silk touch is the rarest enchant, I just got one at lvl 47...I'd say the pick is worth at least the opening bid price.

It is not actually possile to get silk touch at lvl 13, the minimum lvl is 25. Look on the wiki.

The minimum possible level you could get a silk touch pick (on a diamond pickaxe) is actually level 9, according to my math. The wiki states that the minimum modified enchantment level is 25, and thats a very different thing than the number of enchanting levels you spend on an enchant.

I assure you, my math is correct. It is possible to get a silk touch I enchant on a diamond pick at level 9, and it is actually even more likely to get a silk touch I enchant on a golden pickaxe at level 1. The wiki gives the algorithm that the game uses to assign enchantments to items, and the math involved to interpret it is child's play compared to the partial differential equations I do for my thermal physics homework. So where as you are 'pretty sure' that you can't get this enchant with 'pocket change', I am 'entirely sure' that you can, after doing the math. This being said, it is still more probable to get it at higher levels, since that math was done for the minimum level possible assuming the algorithm gives you the best case scenario. The math I've done to find the enchantment level that will give you the highest probably to get this enchant shows that level is greater than the minimum level, let me assure you.
