Issue:

Lately, I've had a problem with an old friend who hasn't been very happy with me lately. He and I were very close so when I decided to go off and start a city of my own he went on and purchased a realm next to mines as well. I had no problem with it then; he had given me rights and made it into a farm with trees, wheat, and so on. But, once we got into a none-ending argument he took it upon himself to take my rights away. That made sense, considering that's usually what one does when they're mad. So months went by and the building was still in mid construction. Day by day I'd take a look at the realm and see no change.
Then, it hit me; he was not doing a single thing to the realm and the only TRUE reason he had made the realm was to at one point support me. So, one day I asked him to sell me the realm as he had no use for it. He denied my offer time and time again.
Yeah, why not you say. He might live close by and use it himself. This is not the case.. He lives over 1,000 blocks away. I asked him once more why he needed the realm and he responded with making a full realm sized Obsidian farm... so far away from his home, and RIGHT next to mines..
Is this really necessary?... Why can't you just sell it to me.. I even offered to help him move the realm closer to him..

A 1000blocks away from his main home? Wow. Who would do such a thing if they aren't going to make a weekly trip to said ream far away from home to maintain it. But to leave it there as a means to troll you (i.e. leave unfinish building, next to your realm.) Feels like harassment, minor at that. Maybe mild case of it if more eveidence is provided. But before I jump to that conclusion. Was this realm a nessecity to your expansion? Can you build in the opposite direction of said realm?

Offer him lots of credits? Not that I like what he's doing, but I hope someone can't simply be forced off his realm for these reasons. Also, maybe he doesn't understand that you need to have the realm and thinks you're just chatting? It happens.

I remember there was a case a while back where the staff decided it would be considered harassment if you buy a realm next to someone else's with the sole intent of impeding their work. It's a bit more complicated, of course, since he bought the realm to help your work, then apparently changed his mind.

Are there any precedents for what happens if a faction member leaves their faction and wants to take a realm that they technically owned but was developed by the faction as a whole?

FYI, this harassment you are describing, is bannable. (probably, as prodigy said the details have to be considered.

Rokkrwolf312: Nothing can be done as he did not actually buy the realm from the start in attempt to harass you.

Not in those exact words but that's what I understood from our conversations. :/
So, they've told me to just let it go.

What do you guys think? I mean, seriously... an Obsidian farm?
Nobody needs that ABOVE ground at least. It irritates me because I know he's doing this just for harassment. -.-

Realm harassment is generally classified as purchasing a realm with the sole intent of annoying someone with an adjacent realm. From what I can tell, you're just mad that you can't buy it for yourself. Stop whining that someone beat you to it.

Ah why thank you Cog for your great opinion, but I'd prefer the opinions from people that still actually get on Minerealm more than once a month.

After giving it thought. What he did was not an offensive action. He bought the realm to help out, then decided to change his mind maybe for another project he planned. He probably had the right to remove you from that realm since he is the owner of it, but should've gave you heads up so you can take down your building. Also, he should not be forced to visit it on a weekly basis let alone a daily, nor make it less ugly.

I just find it pointless to have the realm there. I guess you're right . Thank you for at least saying it nicely unlike other people.
