Question- Is mining ores on the edge of the map LEGAL?#94747

We have all seen the edge of the minerealm map, and of course those precious ores laying there in plain sight.
I've never heard anyone discuss his ingame or in the forums, so I may as well post a topic and get an answer now.
Is it legal to mine these ores? Diamonds, lapis, EcT. Lately I've been rather tempted to mine these ores myself, but before I do that I would like to make sure I'm not breaking any rules.

The survival map is available for all to see and it couldn't be illegal to incidentally mine those delicious ores... I have found that at least on one edge, the edge of the survival map is actually a few blocks deeper than the actual edge of the world, so what you see on the map is not accessible. Can anybody verify this?

Is it, like, a wall of ores? I actually haven't been to the edge of the map since early 3.0.

EDIT: Ahhh, I see what you mean. I'm guessing not, because that is pretty much xray.

I was thinking that, but I'm still not sure weather or not it's legal. I guess a mod or admin will have to post here in order to confirm any said opinions. (mostly if this would count as rule- breaking)

Not sure what to make of this. It IS practically xray... but at the same time it's on the map provided by Intelli and it's equally accessible to all players without needing to use any hax.

Go for it.

With the time you'll waste making sure you're in the right position, etc, it would probably be faster to just do grid mining.

I'm telling you with 100% certainty that the edge of the survival map is not the edge of the actual world.
