Maybe this should be in suggestions. So if I'm at the wrong spot, my apologies.

I have been standing for about an hour (realtime) inside my wheat fields and nothing changed, not a single seed grew one stage further. I can imagine a bit downtuning was in order, but this is a bit much in my opinion.
As far as I can tell, it's impossible to grow anything, unless... I missed out on some new rules concerning wheat growth?

On the other hand, I am getting pretty adept at being a scarecrow! :lol:

Anyway, some advise/input on the matter would be much appreciated.

Growth has been disabled because it caused the server to crash. It will be fixed eventually.

If you're after wheat or trees, bonemeal still works. Grass/melons/pumpkins you're still out of luck though.

Oh I'm fine for now. Plenty of reserves. But I thought I'd read the growth rate was reduced, not disabled. It explains a lot.

I can use bonemeal when the need arises. But I won't waste it... yet.

The switch to Bukkit++ resulted in a decrease of the range at which growth is monitored. This is an anti-lag optimization. The update to Minecraft 1.2 caused a bug in Bukkit that necessitated Intelli temporarily disabling all growth. When the bug is fixed and he re-enables growth, you sill still need to be near the growing area due to the reduced growing range.
