I made a smoothstone generator based on this design. When I got to the step where you place the lava over the water, the lava wouldn't flow over the water in order to make stone. I tried it in single player survival and creative and it worked just fine so I was wondering why it didn't work in MineRealm. Also, I know cobblestone generators work but do obsidian generators work on MineRealm?

I think this top comment might help: "In a multiplayer-Server, the Lava goes sometimes faster than the water and you receive cobblestone ._."

As for obsidian generators, I don't believe any work on our server. Mostly because the designs work by converting string or redstone into obsidian. However string, redstone and torches work differently on minerealm and can hold up water blocks. So I've never found a working design.

To give a definitive answer: Have you tried it based on other designs that work? Yes. Does it work for you? No. Therefore, it does not work.

In my experience, neither cobble nor smooth stone generators work; I've tested some in SP then made them on MR and had them fail. Probably some sort of anti-grief mechanism to prevent people from creating cobble everywhere.

That's strange because for me, I have a cobble stone generator that works perfectly fine in both single player creative, AND MineRealm. Unfortunately as you know, I wasn't as lucky in trying to make working stone generator in MineRealm.

I have noticed unusual behavior when using lava also. I was placing lava for chandeliers and had to fix the position of said lava flow. This should have been easy but when I removed the lava it did not drop away. Lava seems to take a long time to "cool" and disappear on minerealm. I placed water above the persistent flow to get rid of the lava (and would have to remove the generated cobble as a result). The action created a block of obsidian and a lava source block, an obviously unintentional glich. It took a lot of work to move several of the chandeliers. If I remember correctly, this is when I lost my first silk pick (very sad day).

My suggestion would be to move the lava up one (or two) blocks and use pistons to block the flow of lava in several directions. This should result in the server updating the lava flow as a result of the moved blocks. You may have to play around with blocking the lava from different directions before you find a way that consistently results in the lava re-flowing where you want (think 3-dimentionally, like from above and below).

I hope this helps. Continue to reply to this thread and maybe someone can help you get it working reliably.
