Since I know that Optifine is allowed since it's client side I was wondering about another mod.

If it is not allowed that's fine, but I wanted to check/get opinions on this before I install it.

It's called the S.T.F.U. Mod (not what you think it means lol)

Typically client-side appearance changers, which I think this would qualify for, are OK as long as they don't offer a real in-game advantage. That being said, if you find that you've muted the wrong people, you can still be banned by a muted admin that you didn't know was questioning you or even killed as a trespasser if you've muted the person who's telling you to leave their realm. Using a mod like this is risky at best even if it is permitted.

Thanks for the response. I didn't think I was even going to get one on this.

As for your observations I didn't think about some of those aspects and I can see how this could get me banned if used is the wrong way (accidental muting of staff/being somewhere I'm not wanted and don't know it). So I shall not use this. When I first saw this I thought it would be a good alternative to /chat seeing as that shuts down chat with exceptions of PMs, buddy, and guild chat.
