If it's honest, I don't have a problem with it. If someone promises credits to players who kill them, then dies but refuses to pay up, then that's a problem.
Basically, I see it as similar to the "Free diamonds in the nether!" trick--acceptable if and only if it's an honest statement, regardless of whether a challenger even has a real chance at winning.
