well, considering you all seem pretty confident with your texture pack making skills, i have a question.

pixie is working on a texture pack that will be known as wizardcraft or magecraft... but anyway, onto the question. Pixie has re textured lava and such by using MCpatcher but when he re textured fire it worked but was not animated. any suggestions?

I think the fire image has to be .gif to be animated... make sure it's that. :x

Actually I take the statement about the .gif image back.

The default Minecraft terrain texture is a 256×256 image with 16×16 tiles in it. The code which animates the animated textures in Minecraft (fire, water, lava, and portals) writes onto specific pixel offsets according to 16×16 tiles.

And after looking around in the minecraft.jar, I was unsuccessful at finding where the fire image was kept.

i think there is a place in the terrain file you need to put the custom fire, which pixie did, and made it how he wanted it. it just wasnt animated .

it should be in the .jar...

Pigs should be muddy
Sheep should seem more sort of soft and cuddly
Cows should be stereotypical black and white
and chickens should keep the same style but done up a little

also jukeboxes should look like a 50's jukebox

i also like the style of dokus RPG pack

P.S.: PLEASE put the texture pack in a zip. file and NOT rar.

does anyone have a detailed tutorial about how to make a texture pack? (on windows, if that makes a difference)
