Phara, when was the last time you had a fair fight within the nether?

3.0.

Potions, enchantments and the diamond armor buff killed pvp completely.

If you would bring the pvp back to 3.0, I wouldnt even complain if you bring the no camping rule back like it was in 3.0, just because Ceteri (Well, whats left of it), the other NTC members and maybe, a new group of pvp would come back to the nether again - we could fight like in the good ol' days. <3

I know that you wouldnt do that, but please, stop killing the pvp more and more.

I'm just luring because theres is no one to fight against. Also, when they're so stupid to come into the nether, they deserve to die.

To be completely honest, I've practically left the server for that reason (remember not to excuse the pre-qualifier "practically,"). Minerealm had nice builds, nice community, and best of all; relentless pvp. Now it's a bunch of pathetic cowards too scared to step foot in the nether for more then 2 seconds without fleeing or running back to the portal. People who do have 15% the guts to come bring a ****load of of potions, and pathetic armor; that usually gets saved by the bell or there cowardliness running away.

Now, the new server I've began playing on all day (not giving any names for advertising purposes) constantly has people with enchanted diamond armor, enchanted swords, legit pvp WITH RE-LOG PROTECTION, POTION SPAM PROTECTION, SAFE ZONE PROTECTION, AND PRETTY MUCH ALL THE PVP ASPECTS THAT INTELLI NEVER CARED TO SUBSTANTIATE.

^ Maybe with all of these things fixed, I could bare being on the server for more then 5 seconds now a days, along with the rest of NTC for the most part.

As for the buffed armor, that was probably the worst; most pvp killing move that Intelli made (lol) to create thriving pvp you don't lock pvp in a container and hide it in a chest for 50 years; you just take the time to fix all the main pvp bugs / abuses and leave the normal armor / weapon aspects be. Sure, diamond armor is tough to go against, why the hell do you think EVERYONE has the option to GET OFF THERE LAZY *** AND MAKE SOME THEMSELVES, instead of complaining that it's O.P'd and having the owner of the server make it far U.P'd...

^ %85 of the reason I can't bare Minerealm pvp.

-Edit- Lol @ staff pvping yesterday. At least they had some balls to waste Prot IV armor and Sharp III+ swords for an actual attempt at winning a fight.

To be completely honest, I only came because b3ast alerted me in Mumble that the staff was in the nether, so I got my Assassins Juggernaut Baller Squadron gear out and went H.A.M. for a minute.

@Pharazon @xShockWavex what you said about only NTC trying to get good things is almost very correct.
99% of the "pvpers" nowadays don't try...
Well I for one, do try and I love pvp... Now most of the NTC are gone, it's just noobs like fatbbubsbunny running in with literally nothing...

1: @ Canna, why say to slio that what he sayed was the most stupid thing he said on minecraft? It's not, and you know that the only way you can defend yourself is to insult him, instead of providing adequate reasons why you think his statement is wrong.

2: @ my PVP record, it's horrible, I'm ranked 2700th or something. However, I view myself as a moderately good pvper. I've killed shockwave, I've made a guy in diamond armor toss me some diamonds because I was going to kill him with a stone sword. However, I used to pvp with my hands. I used to blindly charge in and punch members of NTC about 3 times before they decide to hit me with their pampered swords.

3: @ NTC, ok, here we go, you guys can't play a fair match to save your life. Hence my pvp record, why put on armor to protect me for 5 longer seconds? That's why I would blindly charge you, because I understand that the only way you can fight is with an enormous advantage, and I can't match that advantage. You say PVP died? You guys killed it.

It's not unfair, because we're not cheating. Also, you didn't list what our advantages were. We have the same privilidges as all of you, there's no reason you can't get a group together in diamond armor and take us on.

Jack, to be completely honest, that was one of the most off shot things I've ever heard YOU say. You lack reasoning in all of your arguments on this thread, evidently you are all just throwing in the towel and saying "It's unfair."

It's not unfair, once again, we're not cheating. Even if it's 6v1, it's not unfair. You're outnumbered, and without diamond armor and potions your odds are fairly low, but you fail to the extent of saying you can't win.

Basically, cry harder.

-Edit- Also, I honestly can't name one person in Minerealm that hasn't been banned yet who is a good pvper.

Shock was good, he joined NTC. Hero was good, he got banned. All the good pvpers either joined NTC or got banned / left / stopped pvping.

Look at Ceteri? There was KyleFate, Mystro, jtcanon (the only good pvpers from ceteri imo) and now none of them pvp except Mystro, but mystro is smart enough to not lose his diamond armor.

All in all, I'm basically saying Minerealm as a whole is terrible at pvp.

Nothing wrong with that, it's just my opinion. That's why I play somewhere with decent pvpers now. :/

If there were people coming in and stomping us, and we kept coming in like we did during the 3.0 nether wars, no one would be saying we killed pvp, or even that it was dead.

I would just like to remind everyone that minecraft is first and foremost and creativity game. If all you want to do on a server is pvp maybe you should consider buying a game that is actually designed for pvp like BF3, MW3, Halo Reach, WoW, LoL, etc. Pvp in minecraft is so pathetic because the game never really was designed to support it. It was just awkwardly squeezed in which is why it is quite horrible.

@Noobs should get properly equipped and fight:
I had 2 encounters regarding PvP in the Nether till now one was a 3 man group, the other a 2 man group, both in diamond armor etc as far as I could tell. I am a noob in Minecraft PvP, no problem with admitting that, since I never fight there, so with 90% probability they would have killed me even if I was fully equipped.
So that would have cost me 24 diamonds for the complete armor, 2 diamonds for the sword and some more hours for enchantment and potions, all in all lets say about 3-5k in equipment and potions. For one fight that is, against a group that is more experienced, most likely better equipped and in greater number.

And don't put words in my mouth, you are not cheating or being unfair, I am just explaining why me (and I guess some other people) are not equipping our chars and join the PvP. It is simply not worth for me to:
a) spend hours mining diamonds and credits or
b) join a solely PvP oriented group to always travel in groups
Sometimes I would like to just grab a sword and go for some PvP into the nether, but it isn't worth investing all my time, diamonds and credits into it. Therefore I will either take another server or most likely another game altogether, if I want to play against another player.

Or to make a long story short:
I don't like the mechanic of loosing everything when you die and having to craft it all over again, while at the same time trying to get better at PvP, since I don't feel that it is worth my time. If I missed something about PvP or if there is anything I misrepresented, please feel free to correct me about it.

If you can go back and win fights with someone on equal footing (no armor/wooden sword) then you are good at pvp, if you sit around buffed to the max, you might as well be pvping in a game like WoW or something.

Skill is and always will be more impressive than someone with a ton of enhancements going on some spamming killing spree.

Pvp is a joke in Minecraft, I suppose it's novel for some people, but to me it's really kind of pointless even more so now with all the enchants/potions and the like.

Fight one on one in an arena with swords, come out on top then you'll impress me...maybe
