Thanks for everything you do for us Intelli, especially in the times where things don't go as planned.

However, I don't understand the part I italicized from the original post:

This new server costs $374/month. This will be adding approximately $100 extra to our monthly operating costs, as we still need to maintain our other physical servers.

If you're switching to a different server from a different provider, then why is it necessary to maintain the old servers? Can't they be dropped after the necessary data is retrieved from the old provider (which will hopefully happen very soon)? Sorry if this is a noob question, because I'm not exactly an expert on such matters, but this just seemed odd to me.

i think we should have a poll/vote on the forums wether or not to start afresh. i mean it would save time wouldnt it. and there are alredy people who dont mind. cept i do know there would be heeps of people who do mind. hence the poll

Intelli already stated that the map is permanent. That and a vast majority of players would leave the server if it were to get a new map.

It's not going to happen. We have already had multiple polls and they have all failed. Intelli even stated that the map is permanent and not going to be wiped.

A birdie told me, the map data will very likely be "lost", and we will have to reset the map for the 2012 year (No credit transfer, it is lost too). I can't admit to this on my first account. Secretly I support the map reset. But, I will deny writing this. Keep the donations rolling in, the new server and new map should be very good. The recent "lag wipes" were just a test, so that we could make the new map perfect. And it will be. Happy new year!
