The time when the server will be updated is still unclear; Intelli has not responded (at least on the forums) whether he is going to update the server anytime soon. When the server updates, however, you will not have to do anything extra to connect. If you have the Minecraft Beta 1.3 client, and the server is running a Minecraft Beta 1.3 server, then you'll be fine.

I wouldn't expect it to be up today. Would be awesome if it was though. They said earlier since it was so big it would take a long time.
