On the other hand, according to Jeb, we may never need to worry about this again, making it a viable solution.

For all of you complaining about how the land would have sheer drop-offs and holes-
It already does at this point, so why should we care anyway? I mean, the problem already exists, so there's no point in not doing it again.
I vote for total public-land wipe, but give us a decent warning so people with good builds in public realms can raise enough credits to buy it.

ummmm no, don't wipe public.... i bet all of you who voted yes have your own piece of land. see ima play mother earth (yes im a guy)(no im not trans or gay.. get the analogy) and i plan on living on public forever and restart the land as much as i can. but if something like that happens then first of all it is against the nature of the server. second thanks to that my home would destroyed....... and you would all be safe in the pvt realms while we all have to start from scratch. also in the long run causing more people to destroy more blocks. receiving more credits making more people get pvt realms and less public for the rest of us. just extend the land and all will be well.

Extending the map creates lag initially because people may walk around to generate land. If public land were wiped, the same would happen. Once it's all generated, no more lag.

ok maybe extending the land isn't a good idea... but the wipe is a bad one. you will be loosing more public land than you already have. new players will have a hard time in the beginning as we previously had a talk about with regenerating the trees and other forums. how will you be lossing more public land you may ask? because people will be forced to get pvt land if they want to keep there stuff... people are materialist sooo of course they would want to keep their stuff turning their land to pvt and less public land

A lot of the area I live in and help maintain is public , a beautiful mountain range , forested area and snow , and I am willing to give all of this up around my place for the chance that new people can have a place to live and be able to start out naturally . As it is right now most new people end up having to live with someone in order to get by .

I like having new people live with me I have an entire village dedicated to it, but it would help them out even more if they could, find a desert with sand in it, find clay, find a tree that is not just a tree top, find a diamond that isn`t a random one missed in a gigantic strip mine, find a place to build a home that doesn`t have at least three mud huts on it... find a wild horse - so they do not need to depend on free horse areas across the map from them, get credits without digging into some persons underground base by accident, actually live in one of the new biomes that we would not be able to get all of without a solution like this , find a mooshroom island... the list goes on and on of things that could change that new people could have, and veterans, this is beneficial to the server, beneficial to new people, beneficial to supply and demand.

You are worried to loose your home, and belongings, live with someone until the wipe is done and rebuild.
I would gladly give up every building on my part of the island just to start fresh, all my animals all my builds ( not the floating islands because new people live there ) dead sun , living moon , I would gladly give it up for the chance to rebuild on a better server because it is needed. I would gratefully sell them back to the server just so they could be wiped.

thats good but no good, rebuilding isn't the funnest if you have ever experienced it.... i do believe the material thing is an issue mining sucks and there is no diamond.... like at all....... actually maybe your idea is right, thanks for bringing a better approach, even though its still not natural
