Here's my one comment for this thread:

If I encountered a pig spawner, I might not be sure whether or not it was legit. I remember a time, quite a while ago, when spawners could be picked up with silk touch, so I'd wonder if I had stumbled across something from that version of MC.

At the same time, though, it has been judged an exploit, and ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for breaking them, even if half the other players in the poll (myself included) were similarly ignorant.

Pig spawners PERIOD are against vanilla minecraft. THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE IN SURVIVAL MODE.

The monster spawner is only available through use of the /give command and, if placed, will only spawn pigs by default. At this current time, even if correct data values for mobs are given when using the /give command, the mob spawner will always be a pig spawner.

Even if you didn't make it a pig spawner, you KNEW that it was an exploit.

Nether fortresses spawn the mobs of the Nether at a much higher rate. They can spawn Blazes, Magma Cubes and Wither skeletons, along with Zombie Pigmen. Certain mobs (Blazes, and Wither skeltons) can spawn only in these fortresses.

So going from your ban appeal, you just walked along, minding your own business one day and found a spawner. Then you decided, "Hey, Let me put grass around it and see if pigs spawn from it."

Not once did you think to report it to the staff?

Its nice to see that you have decided to write more coherently.

Sadly your reading needs some working on. Its has already been established the pig spawner came into existance because of a rollback and not because of some silly /give command. You say PERIOD? Then isnt it curious that Satff decided to overide my polll by adding "In the Nether" to the question? Why would they do that Mr.PERIOD?

So now you too claim to know what "I KNEW"... You are the 4th person now to blatantly say that and I have already responded my views on those kind of presumptions.

I can only repeat : I DID NOT KNOW IT WAS AN EXPLOIT! And again I have already explained in earlier post what i was thinking.

Yes I found it purely by accident, and i stated in public chat at the time that I found an inactive spawner in the nether. I did not put any grassblocks anywhere. Payn did it and I participated afterwards in the grinding. And no I did not think to report it since I didnt suspect any foul play at all.

Synta, I think the hugest problem here is why your common sense didn't tell you to ask a staff member of this, and also the fact that asking staff about any doubts is not stressed enough.

Also, I kinda like this new Ninjalo, although some humor every once in a while would be nice.

EDIT: Also, is grinding a pig spawner in the overworld legit? That's what the focus on the nether seems to be inplying.

How do u figure that? Ive admitted numerous times in my appeal and this thread that I am guilty. And one can only be guilty if one made a mistake right? Are you trolling?

You were participating in abusing an exploit.

You knew it was rare, and you knew it was not "normal", but you didn't think to contact staff about it before grinding stacks upon stacks of porkchops...?

I do not know why your original post was edited, but pig spawners are not allowed to be used ANYWHERE. I would speculate it was edited to say "the nether" due their obviously not ever being pigs there, let alone a pig spawner.

If you really didn't think it was an exploit... well, okay. People make mistakes. I imagine it was exciting to find such a glorious spawner, and maybe you got a bit carried away without actually thinking it through. Or maybe you did think it through and somehow did not feel it was an exploit, despite its rarity and non-vanilla feel.

I would also like to point out that if the version of MC that allowed you to silk spawners ever made it onto MR (which it didn't), this would STILL have been an exploit. It was not intended by Mojang to allow players to have pig spawners, and as such, having a pig spawner and using it is an exploit. Period. Whether it being a glitch that was abused in the code of the game, or a glitch in a previous version of coreprotect, you were still taking advantage of it.

Having said that, there is really no need for this entire thread... it is turning into flaming and arguing, so I am going to go ahead and lock it.
