I'm for just a new map completely. It would be fine as our primary (only) server.

I have a question for people: How much, right now, do you miss your 2.0 projects? A lot? Would you rather that server be our only map?

Those questions are directly analogous and relevant to the current situation.

Guys, this is pretty selfish of you. With a secondary server, Intelli has to pay more. What if he's sick of paying money out of his own pocket?

I don't remember saying the new map has to be on a new server, I don't mind how it happens, I was simply suggesting that a new map is put in place, and seeing what the community's opinions were on this.

try not to start a massive flame war calling people selfish/stupid etc. over their ideas/opinions if you can manage.

While I was looking forward to a fresh map for 5.0, I was mostly looking forward to seeing the changes Intelli has planned. I can find fresh maps elsewhere, but whether the map gets wiped or not, I have confidence that Intelli will be bringing us something interesting, and knowing this group, it will be controversial, which is part of what will make it interesting

Also, the player base is dwindling as are the donation dollars. 2 servers with 2 completely different game styles (survival and creative) weren't sustainable, 2 survival servers would likely be even less worth the staff's time and Intelli's $.

To be honest, I was also looking forward to a new server along with keeping the current one. But yes, I'm sure Intelli wouldnt want to have to pay for a new server and whatnot. I say either go along with the plan to have 5.0 on another server or expand the current one.

For the people who want to wipe the current server to make way for a new map; no. Consider those who have put days of work into their creations just to see them go. Especially the people who have spent their MineRealm days in 4.0, and have put a lot of work and effort into what they have here. Also, please mind im not just speaking for myself. Plenty others would hate that too.

I think Intelli should put the map on this server, and maybe use the other server for something else, like Party, or not at all.

I can't manage, actually. Nobody ever stops to think, "Would I want to spent a few hundred extra dollars when we have a server that currently is working perfectly fine?"

An alternative to completely wiping the thousands of hours of work that literally built a community could be:
-Expand the map a little bit, maybe to x:6000 z:6000 and the same distance in the negative way.
-Wait to see what 5.0 brings on the current map.
-Not bribing players to agreeing with your standpoint (directed solely at Laserminer).

If the new map was put on a different server, that wouldn't be the end of the world, unless the chats weren't linked. But, I'd rather trust Intelli's decision, because it most likely is the better one. What if 5.0 on a different server wouldn't work, or like I said, he didn't want to spend a ton more money out of his own pocket? That would make sense.

And then again, if 5.0 was compromised, then the compromise would work out, and if Intelli felt like treating us to a second server, we could have the party or apoc.

So we've analysed the problem, now let's find a solution. I guess It's all Intelli from here.

It is very nice that we have some say. I am extremely appreciative of the staff's support in this.

We're either:

-A non-vanilla, pieced together server that prefers holding on to the outdated system.
or
-An interesting and undiscovered world map with what vanilla Minecraft is. Players looking forward to More thousands of hours on fresh, engaging new projects that have never been seen before.

...or a mix of the two, which is the first, because it is even more pieced together.
