I think that instead of the realm border pushing you back at all it should be like you are walking into a wall. You just can't go any further. I have experienced something like this once or twice but always got most of my stuff back.

Playing on the party server I asked for a visible wall, and now that I think about it, a wall of some sort would be nice on the regular servers too.

I think he means like the red rope kind of deal or a red line surrounding the realm to show it boundaries.

Lightbulbs can kill you even when he isn't around. I was walking around the edge of Novasbiscuit and got pushed off the mountain.
