Hi, sorry if this is the incorrect place, but I've only been on the server for a few days, and lurking a few days before that.

I was logged in tonight, minding my business, working on building credits through mining, and when I came back up into the house I'd been working on, all the diamonds, iron, lapis, coal, etc. I'd worked hard to hunt down and harvest were gone from the chests in my house. There was a hole in the stone fence I'd put up, a wooden sword laying on the ground nearby, a bone in the house, and the door was left wide open.

I didn't see the thing about putting a block over chests until now, or I would have. Is there anything at all that can be done? I've had people trample through and steal the wheat I was growing, which I've blown off because I understand how much I freaked out about starving until I realized I wouldn't die. This, however, is everything I've worked for, and it's disheartening in the extreme.

Any help, advice, etc. that could be given would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you haven't repaired the hole in the fence you can have a mod check the block logs for that block. You won't be able to get your items back though. Best thing to do is go far from spawn and hide inderground (and hide your chests and have dummy chests) until you have 10k credits and can buy a realm.

Well, if I can't get the items back, there's no point in bothering. They cleaned me out.

Logout with your valuables on your character (until you buy a realm)

Without a realm, sadly you are vulnerable. Always put blocks over your chest, and if something is missing from one chest, don't open the rest. Call a Mod/ Admin, and have them check the blocks over the remaining chest. They can likely catch the thief this way (because the thief would have had to remove and replace the blocks, and they can see who placed/ removed the block over the chest).

Also if you don't want to wait till you earn 10k credits to buy your realm, maybe you should think about getting a minerealm loan. I can offer you a loan, in exchange you would be able to build and mine in the safety of a realm right away. Read this page if you are interested, good luck!

Sadly, I was online at the time. I was simply mining below that area and didn't hear them come in and take my stuff. I am making sure to log out with everything on me now.

Question: Are lava/other kill traps allowed on this server as a method of combating griefers?

I'm thinking so. You just can't pour lava (or set fires) directly on other players.
