I got on this afternoon to check what new posts had been made since last night, and I saw this:


I wouldn't mind this, if all of the new posts were remotely worthwhile. However, only about 5 of the posts actually had anything of substance to them. So, in the interest of maintaining my sanity, I'm starting a new policy on the ban forum.

If you make a irrelevant post that does not contribute at all the discussion, you will receive a warning. If you persist, temp forum bans will begin to be handed out like candy.

If you make a post with the sole intention of taunting the person who was banned, I'm skipping the warning phase and moving straight to forum bans.

If you do not know if your comment is worthwhile, think about it like this: If most of your posts are in the ban section on threads that are neither A) A ban request against you, B) Your own ban appeal, or C) a ban request that you made against someone, then your post has a fairly high likelihood of being completely unnecessary. If you want to talk about random things, take it elsewhere.

Hopefully this new policy is clear.

Hmm, what if our discussion is not about us, but is actually worthwhile? I post a lot on the bans section, but I have never been banned. I often look through a topic and state my opinion on the ban or appeal.

EDIT: never mind, it looks like it's doing its job well. Got on today with only about 6 new posts.

It will achieve its purpose. I have plenty of time in the evenings to ban folks.

Thats because I'm not online in the morning. However, when I just got home and saw that, I handed out 6-7 different warnings, and 3 temp bans. I will probably be doubling temp ban length each time they are handed out, so people will either learn, or be unbanned at some point around the heat death of the universe.

well, that was idiotic. but in my defense, it wasnt for the cause of spam or post raising or whatever, i was bored and decided to make a small goal for myself. it turned out bad, and i got some warnings. i will obviously never do that again. and for all that dont like this new system, you have me to blame.

Don't flatter yourself. You weren't the only one doing this, nor were you the only one who has been temp. banned.
