Also I would like to know if animals are being disabled or are they just being wiped and they will spawn back naturally like animals in minecraft do (Or used to do).

It's part of the 4.0 wipe. The alternative would be a full map wipe, in which you would lose all your redstone AND your building.

Yeah, as someone said before though, It's like picking apart the buildings to solve lag issues. Instead of just wiping everything...

This, especially since right now minecraft.net seems to be having login issues. The wipe should be postponed a day or two to let people get their affairs in order.

It's just redstone, not like you'r losing anything valuable. Anyone who uses redstone should have at least 3 double chests just lying around anyway.

Exactly, it's hardly valuable.

There are alternatives to redstone torch.
And just don't use a lot of redstone torch and your wallet won't suffer.

Luckily I have all my redstone creations in a saved creative map so I can copy it again after the wipe.
