We should do what we did before, and only wipe the public realms and the nether, leaving the owned realms as-is. If we do do a full wipe, I'll most likely quit, as I worked really hard to get what I have on this map.

If this happens, this will end up with a ugly map like we have now, with completely un-matching chunks, and large areas that you cannot pass through, as someone owned a mountain there before the semi-wipe, and now the area around it is flatland.

Option B is placing the current map and all of it's stuff on a second server whilst creating a new map on the primary server.

I vote for option B.
It really is the most fair, and nobody can complain.

Majority of people want a fresh new start. The rest of you can't keep forcing everyone to play with this old map. Option B gives everyone a voice and a choice once the new map is made.

I voted A, but what I meant by that is for the private realms to remain the same (I don't want all my work to go to nothing!) but the public realms to be reset--within reason, of course. I don't want the edge of my realm in the mountains to hang over a giant desert/ocean. I really don't think that getting an entire new map OR moving the map to a new server that would inevitably be removed is a good option for those who went to a lot of work to get what the have and have built now, which includes many--indeed, most!--people on Minerealm.

Hey Intellitron i have some ideas to keepup the server. They will be listed below

Make newbies spawn in a random public realm so they don't cry and leave because they can't build but when they /spawn they will go to a spawn.

Advertise the server more.

Host more events i.e. apoc games etc. we haven't had a game of apoc in a while.

Expanding the map ever so slightly will increase the playing time of some.

If the server grows the staff would also have to therefore making people want to play more so they can become mod.

Um, stick, I don't think we want more n00bs wanting to be mods.
I do think it would be a good idea to have public realms at/near spawn, though. Perhaps a permanently public realm or two near spawn that would refresh themselves every month or so, and could only be mined by those who had been on for a month or less?

Option D.

Wipe the map but also include a portal at spawn to a PVP enabled public mining world that would get wiped once a month or right away when a new update is released. One map for building and one for mining that would never be outdated. Also I would highly recommend reducing the size of the building world atleast initially. Maybe something like 2000 blocks in each direction instead of 5000. Would make for a more community driven and close knit server. Builds and towns would not be so far apart. The subway would actually be useful and so on. Of course the mining world could be fairly large with a larger Nether as well.

You could also keep the existing map and just provide the additional mining world.

I went with B. I propose we unite this idea with another, the murder of creative. Dump the creative server for Minecraft classic (4.0) and create 5. Absolutely love that idea.

For the passed year and a half or so, we've 'been told the server would NEVER be wiped, and that all creations would be permanent.

If there is a wipe for 5.0, my MR days will be over, as i can't be bothered to flatten another 100 realms, and see many, many days worth of play time disappear, or be placed on a new, dead server.

I'll go with D too. I want a wipe so we can get the newer things like jungles in the game and fresh resources such as glowstone. However I'd like to keep the buildings I have. Can't lose my Thundercats Lair. I know its asking alot but I'm torn between all the time I spent building the stuff I have and wanting new things.
