Will unowned realms have a set amount of units? like 500 or so? or will someone be able to snake there way through unowned realms to owner realms to contest? and would the same apply to realms that are owned but do not have country status?

Scenario:

I have 50 realms set up for my country.
One person comes in and conquers ONE of the realms.
I still conquer 49, but he/she has 1 of the original 50 realms on his/her conquer list.

What is affected? Is it only if I have my home in that realm that they can tax me HARD?

Also:

If someone has his/her home set in trade, is that the only way in which they may be taxed by the spawn realm?

/country motd <message> - Sets the MOTD for the country.
I'm confuzzled. Will this change the MOTD for all the realms in it?
And so pretty much, it's like, they're countries, we're states/provinces, and Minerealm is the world?

I think you guys are seeing this all wrong. I like it. It's like warfare on a large scale using numbers

Question: Do taxes apply to blocks placed and destroyed within the annexed realm? Or all credit transfers? Or does it apply to people with their home set in the annexed realm? Do taxes take away from the citizens' revenue or is it just a creation of additional credits? e.g. one block broken = .4 rc for the citizen and .1 for the country or .5 for the citizen and .1 for the country. I fear the taxes part is too ambiguous.

And can an individual 50x50 plot now be called a realm?

Aside from questions, let the virtual empire of USA run supreme!!

Mwahahahaha!!!

No. That would make no sense. As long as you own the realm and you are the only one with perms, everything is safe.

I am a solitary player. I currently have my /home set in the middle of a block of 16 realms.

Looks like my best strategy is to start a country with my /home realm, and fortify it heavily, because only that one will change how I pay taxes should someone conquer me. It seems it would also be smart to include and fortify the surrounding realms as much as I can to keep my /home realm from becoming an adjacent realm to someone else's country. (a defensive ring of realms)

But, if I get this right, I can't add & fortify a realm of mine that's far from the block of 16 because I can't make it part of my country b/c it's not adjacent. If this realm becomes part of another country it shouldn't affect me at all though.

If I wanted to spend the extra rc I could make another country in that far away realm? Even though I would only be taxed per whatever country my "/sethome" is in, there is nothing to stop me from starting multiple countries if I want to?

If I name multiple countries the same thing do they act like they are part of one country for the purpose of the rankings the way realms do?

When the rankings come out will coordinates of the country's "capitol" be given
(and what will determine the "capitol"...the original realm that the country was started in?)

Who does everyone think will more likely end up absorbing the cost of the variable taxes? Do you feel like when selling items you are going to be asking for X rc or X+tax rc and leave it up to the buyer to know their tax rate and do the math appropriately?

If someone feels the country they are a citizen of has too high taxes, they can just change their /sethome to a realm within a country with more palatable taxes, or a realm that is not part of any country and just pay 5% tax yes?

Meaning, that a country would be unstoppable if it grew too big (?). I don't think we really know yet, but if it happened to be if a single country was in control for too long of a time, could there be a "country reset" every so often as to give everyone new chances?
A country could indeed rapidly grow in size if they got big, however, the problem with a country growing so big by the leaders' perspective is that can they financially support a consistant defence throughout their borders? The more a country expands, the more financially stretched they will be, and if they can't afford it, they'll have to disperse units to keep borders defended, either way making the country far more vulnerable to attack. So I doubt any country would get ridiculously big unless if every wealthy player sided up with one country.

And as for the 'taxing to the ground' worries. As Intelli said, 25% is barely large at all, and a bit less money coming through won't do much to affect your building, but hey, hunger for credits all you want.
