Greetings esteemed citizens of Minerealm, and may I say it is an absolute honour to welcome you to the "Ceteri Guidelines on Forum Etiquette".

The upstanding chaps in Ceteri recently got together and discussed at length the topic of "Correct Forum Behavior", as we felt that some recent forum posts were most unsavoury and quite distressing. The ideas elaborated on within the confines of this thread are, of course, by no means reinforced with the opinions and judgement of Intelli and the kindly Staff of Minerealm, but they are things that have historically been viewed as "proper" and "correct" by the community in general.

Section 1: The Right Way To Adress Another Player
When attempting to adress another player, please be kind and restrain yourself from making them look like a bad person/individual when they are not. If the situation DOES call for it, as in the behavior of the person whom is being adressed is clearly insulting the community's intelligence or is vile enough towards another member, it is right and just to do so. However, one must always show restraint, as giving in to the primal urge to "curb stomp" as some vulgar people say, risks losing the high level of dignity one earns through correct forum posting.

Section 2: Avoid Using Expletives
Nothing is more offputing to an average forum reader then a sudden post filled with masses of cruel, brutish, dirty swears or politically incorrect terms for the so called "races" of people(for we are all one race, in reality, the human race). Using these horrid, nasty little blighters can and will earn you a swift forum ban by one of the excellent Admins that have offered their time to make this server a better place.

Section 3: Do Not Be Like The Hole of The Donkey
In todays modern era it is a widely known fact that the majority of people do not like one whose actions depict them as being "the hole of the donkey". There is, of course, enough hatred in this world already without mass quantities of it being expressed through our fair Minerealm Community Forums.

Section 4: The Proper Length of Time Before Lodging A Complaint Against The Timeliness of Admins
Let us, for a moment, transpose ourselves into the situation of a moderator or an administrator of Minerealm. They are people too, human beings with lives, loves, hopes, dreams, and they too need to eat, sleep, relax, go to work, and live their lives. This means that they have limited time to process the things that people say to them on the forums and in game(Please, be sure your complaint is legitimate before proceeding). While it may be hard to "wait" for them to get back to you on your question or complaint, it is almost never polite and good to lodge a complaint about the timeliness of an Admin until around a month has passed. This is called "bumping", which involves posting something like "bump" or "this is to ensure that this thread is not lost to the ether", which will bring the topic back to the top of the forums, and likely catch someones attention. Note that another rule for "bumping" is to "bump" if your appeal/complaint is when it goes past page 3 on the "view active topics" thread.

Section 5: This Is Minerealm Community Forums
This is not the website on the internets known collectively as "Reddit", so there is no need for the silly and superfluous "+1" or "upvotes".

Section 6: Ensure Your Contributions are of the Positive Nature
Before allowing others to see your opinions or words, take some additional time to pore over what you have written to ensure it is of quality and will contribute positively to the topic at hand.

Section 7: When Making A Post, Attempt to Not Post If You Posted Last
This is known in the common tounge as "double posting", and is looked down upon by the community.

Section 8: The Proper Attitude Towards Moderators And Admins
These people are here for your safety, and yelling at them or calling them terrible things is going to get you nowhere but the feared "Mod Hell".

Section 9: The Commenting On and Contributions to "Ban Appeals"
When speaking your mind on an individuals "Ban Appeal", be sure that the post is needed or points out something to the community or individual who has been banned that might have been overlooked.

Section 10: Speaking in the Advanced and Proper Way
Attempt valiently to maintain a level of civility and proper grammar and speaking when making any contribution to the forums.

Section 11: Use Coloured Text and Emoticons Liberally Whilst amusing and good for a hearty laugh or quiet chuckle, overusing these things may lead to people and the community to viewing you as immature or possibly colourblind. Sometimes, the usage of colours to highlight important things in a sentence is, of course, just and good.
