I was banned today in the purge. I have never used xray hacks. That said:
I've been thinking about Intelli's script. I'm guessing today was the first time that he's checked for gold in addition to diamond. I do not have access to the script, but I would assume that it checks for gold per timeframe, as well as gold per blocks destroyed. According to http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Gold_(Ore) gold occurs in .13% of all rock (an important fact that is easy to miss, because the wiki sentence is poorly phrased) "above 32 its abundance falls sharply. "
I estimate that I've broken around 220,000 blocks on this server, based on the total amount of realm credits that I've accrued. I also estimate that I've collected around 150 blocks of gold. (I've given Lm around 1 and a third stacks of blocks of gold, and I currently have about one and a half stacks of blocks of gold in my bank) Do the math, and my rate of blocks vs gold collected is somewhere around .6% of total blocks. I admit, this is far above .13%, however these averages do not take in to account people below level 32 vs top layers. It also doesn't take in to account people going thru caves looking for exposed gold while skipping the rest of the blocks (which wont count as a break, even though they were technically "inspected").
As for timeframe of gold collected in a certain interval of time....without knowing exactly what interval Intelli uses as a threshold, I don't really have a way to refute that. I usually mine with stone axes (I know, pathetic), and haven't been carrying iron axes unless I know that I'm going into a cave where I know I can expect gold. (I've been especially lucky in finding untouched caves around the -3500 area, and can pull around 30-60 gold ore in the course of an hour when just running thru caves around level 30 and less while looking at surface blocks) I find myself digging out gold ore and then returning within the hour to collect. I also relocate gold blocks which are known to me within my realms and used for decoration or storage, and I collect them when I have need (giving them to Lm, for example as I stated in another forum, he died from lava, and so I dug up my gold block floor and gave the total to him. I don't know the exact date, but it was several weeks ago).
Thanks for reading this. I hope your script gets balanced out Intelli. Scripts make mistakes. I write a lot of shell scripts myself, and understand that better than anyone. If you have time with all the recent bans, I'd appreciate it if someone would manually inspect any 'trouble periods' that would have flagged me for xraying. I think it would be apparent by my actions in game that I was not.
