I'm not sure why I was banned, but I'm sorry for what I did. I have multiple realms, I trade with others peacefully and my friends play on this server. I really like this server for the way it is run and how it has been separated into realms. I have spent about a month playing on this server and I understand that the rules have been put in place to keep the server a fun and fair place to play. Once again I am sorry and if you could clarify the rule that I broke I asure you it will never happen again.

I have now been banned for over 24 hours with out any explaination or reason given. I am literally just starring at my forum post waiting for a reply because I have invested so much time on this server I dont want to play minecraft unless I am playing on the minerealm server. :(

The mods and admins can tell who removed or placed any block. Are you sure that you have never damaged anything that wasn't yours? Removed a block of road? Knocked out someone else's torchs? Anything that, if an admin came by weeks later and checked to see who removed a couple blocks, your name would come up?

So you get banned for building and mineing in public realms? Cause people put crap all over the place and I dont want to walk for 10 min away from my realms that I own inorder to make sure I dont smash something that someone built at some point in time right in the middle of no where.

Of course. Just because its a public realm doesn't mean you can destroy anything you find there. It sounds to me like you destroyed someone's stuff in a public realm and that got you your ban. It should be obvious if a zone is natural or not. If it not natural, don't touch it. Pretty simple.

Then why have I spent so long collecting up realm credits and buying realms to build on when I could have just built on public land and put up a sign. Also, what if someone builds a whole bunch of little wood and cobblestone houses, which I see everywhere, and takes up a large amount of public land. Technically no one could destroy any of this stuff and the person who built it has claimed a bunch of land without buying it. I just think that if someone takes the time to build a large house they would spend the 10000 credits to buy the realm like I did.

Idunno, you don't know the rules well? With admins able to rollback and ban griefers so easily, realms almost feel un-needed. And if someone really did slap up a bunch of crappy houses all over, you could just ask an admin for an OK to smash the house. If you get their permission first, your safe. But tearing someone's house down, even on public land, without an admin's ok, is like asking for a ban.

Plus, if someone does buy the land that the house is on, the person has a week or something like that to take their stuff and get out, before the owner gets to demolish it. So building a realm is important if you don't want to someone to buy your land and then have permission to tear the house down.

So buying a realm is really only needed to ensure that no one else buys the realm, since the realm owner can demolish anything on his realm. However, if you don't buy the realm, the public stuff is not touchable. You follow or was that too messy of an explanation?

So you're saying that all the time we've put into developing our own land was for nothing because we didnt give someone a week to move their things - which was not in the rules I read. It just doesnt seem fair, we respect the rules and I honestly dont think we deserve to be banned for an accident.

Rule 6.8 which covers the purchasing of realms with structures already placed inside the realm by someone else.

In case you can't be bothered to read it, it basically says that if you purchase a realm, you have to permit anyone who has already built in that realm 14 IRL days to remove their constructions before the new realm owner is permitted to demolish/alter/inhabit the buildings.

However, this only covers situations in which you are interacting with buildings after purchasing a realm. In any other situation, in any other situation, in any other situation, (repeated thrice for emphasis) you can not interact in any way with someone else's constructions.

So, if you run into a crappy little dirt hut in a public realm in the middle of nowhere, and you knock off a single block of dirt, that's a bannable offense.

No, it was worth something. If you own the realm you are building in, no one else can come in, buy it, and force you out at the end of 14 days. Owning the realm is protection from someone else buying the realm.

No, its 100% fair. The rules are posted publicly and enforced evenly. That is as fair as it gets. However, I will admit that sometimes i think that the only people who actually know the whole of the rules is me(since i am the nitpicking ass who finds every problem in them), and possibly panthers(he gets credit since he writes them). Which is why the ban forums exist. The whole point of this forum is to ensure that bans were correct and just. And just was the word you were looking for, not fair.

At this point, the admins/mods will look over what you did and decide if it was a forgivable offense. But if you got banned then there was an offense.
