[Hello, this is Gara_The_Gray, a player on minerealm for a few months. I tried logging in today from a different machine than usual only to be told I was booted from the server and was issued a ban. I don't remember doing anything that would initiate a ban, all of my materials are made and mined by hand and I do not have any third party tools on my computer to try and hack the server. The skin I had on was Red Hawaiian Shirt on the Minecraft Skindex, and the texture pack was one based on Shining Force that offered no new materials or any special abilities on my end... I rarely ever use the in-game chat server, and I do not believe I griefed any claimed settlements, or anything at all. I only just registered on minerealm's website to see if that was the issue, but there is no explanation for why my account is "banned" in either my email or the minecraft launcher. I understand if there is a problem with the shift in IP address or if it is because of switching to another machine, but as it stands there is no explanation or even any indication that my account is truly banned from the server. I hope to contribute to the growing community, and build structures that will show the creativity of the community of the server, so I really hope I did not offend any staff or broke a rule unwittingly. I am just looking for some clarification on this issue. I will be unable to check my primary account on my own machine until late on 8-18-2013, so if it is just an issue of conflicting IPs or accounts then please let me know as soon as possible. After checking my primary account, I noticed I was still banned, and still have no idea as to why... If it has anything to do with any texture pack or skin issues, or even some unwittingly installed software I will gladly fix it, I really do like this server and I have no idea what could have caused this ban... I hope to do the staff and community right while on the server, so please let me know if it was an error on my part so that I can fix it...

Wow, I had no idea that that tower was even supposed to be anything! My friend said it was abandoned in the two month's he had played and I had no idea that it was even part of a public project... Even then the only blocks I had taken were a few wood planks near the middle section, only around five if I remember... It was already in shambles and I did not know it had a purpose despite its size. I will gladly put them back if that is what I need to do, but there is such extensive damage to it from every part that I don't even really know it it will be worth the effort... I am very sorry about this misunderstanding though, and will make sure to point that out to fellow players should I be allowed back on server.

I am the friend he mentioned in his post. I've been right next to that tower for a long time and I haven't seen anything happen with it from the time I came to the area. I made the assumption it was completely abandoned. I will take part of the fault for that then. I know Gara very personally and he's a good person overall that doesn't like to do anything outside of the rulebook. I've talked with him about this and he feels very bad about it and wants to fix it. Also, about me and this issue. While I haven't done anything to the actual tower, I have made some of the ground right next to it kinda ugly. I am willing to fix that if necessary.

I would also like to bring up a few other instances where I might have accidentally damaged some public land... I had found a large complex (I forget the exact reason I was in this area, I think I was trying to get back to or from the Wilderness to get some dropped material and a dog I had befriended, but my memory is iffy) that looked to have at one time been a public city out in one of the desert biomes and had been exploring, when I fell into an area that was completely enclosed and did not appear to have any ladders or stairways. I then decided to tunnel through a wall to try and get out. Up until this point I had just thought it a mining effort on the land, and not a public city. After emerging from the hole in the wall, I noticed damaged walkways and a sign saying that griefing said land was a ban-able offense, so I took my leave. I also picked up some wooden planks near my realm that seemed to be placed in a formation that looks like it was once a house, but had no identification or chests, similar to where my realm is now. I will gladly give back any materials hidden underneath my house (I have yet to actually start mining there...) or from said city, that I was unaware of to their original owner. I bring these up now in the event that they come up later as griefing attempts (similar to this one) that I had accidentally committed so that they may be addressed now and fixed, rather than being hit for a second ban further down the line. Just trying to clear up my record as best as I can right now since I would like to remain a member of this community.

Thank you for letting me know about all of that. Seems I'll have to point a few things out for the time being though. When it comes to abandoned structures please talk to staff about it first before taking anything from them as that can be considered griefing, thus your current ban. It seems that a lot of people assume that if it's abandoned that it's okay to take from it. Well for now just wait and reply to this post once a day with the word bump until this is fully resolved.

Before I go I will give you a link that would be good to read in the meantime as it will help you understand the rules a little better. I know we have them posted at spawn, but we have more detailed rules here for the server: "Official Rules"

Thank you very much for the link... Sorry about this mess I seem to have caused. To be honest, I feel kind of bad about this whole thing. I will make sure to ask the staff about any further plots of land that I think are open for mining in the future. Again, thank you for your understanding and I hope to remain a continuing member of the community.

Before I post any unban dates or anything who is adamshadows? They seem to be on your ip and banned for the same thing and place.

Adamshadows is actually the cousin of a friend, I was over at my friend's house with my laptop (which is where my primary Minecraft account is) so I think that is why my IP is listed as there, but it was only one day that I logged in from there. I have spoken with him in and out of the game and I believe we have permissions on each other's realms (I forget if I gave him access to mine... Though I did give him a few credits to help him purchase a realm). With that said I traditionally do not play from that IP, and will talk to him about his ban if you wish. Beyond that I have no affiliation with him at all and only recently met him. If you wish to know more please let me know.

It's entirely up to you if you wish to speak to him about it, I was just curious since you said you were on a different ip in the top post. But thanks for a well written appeal and sorry for the confusion. You will be unbanned Friday August 23, 2013.
