First he made it clear to Aecalan that it was analgy that triggered the bot. Next he makes it clear to public that anal alone isn't a swear word.

He was completely informative, not swearing here.

Here is what went through his mind:

Hmm, the helpbot warned someone for saying a swear word. IDEA!!! Let me say that swear word! Huh? The helpbot warned me for saying that swear word. The only logical thing to do is to say that word again to tell the helpbot, an inanimate object, that the word is not a swear, EVEN though it has gotten two warnings, both of which I heard.

You deserve no unban.

aguy130 please understand that that is not what went through my mind. I had no wrongful intentions, I was justing being stupid. It's as simple as that. I had a warning, and I went and tried to state an example. It's kind of like what ramien said, though it could have done better without the hostility.

I was not telling Help Bot that it wasn't a swear word; but I was telling Intelli that he should (in my opinion) change the functionality to allow people to say "anal," but have prefix settings that it bans if they say "do," before it or something, because a lot of people do use "anal," or "analogy."

Intelli: This is directed at you because I know your stand point and I just need to explain my view in so many words. Do you think if you were on when their was no help bot at all and you saw me say ""Anal," isn't a swear word," and then you yourself said "Don't say Anal period or you'll be banned," I wouldn't have even THOUGHT about it. It was because I was exampling to you a sentence with the non-derogatory form of the word in it that I thought I could ignore the warning. (Foolishly enough, and that's why I'm banned)

I'm finding out now that I indeed could not. But I appreciate all of aguy130, and ramien123's input and it's actually helping my character a lot to hear another side of the story.

All in all, what I did was wrong. I'm not asking for anyone to admit I never did anything wrong, I'm asking for your forgiveness.

@Kress91: I did not taunt it; in logical sense I actually just tested it (lesser meaning then "taunt,"). I said "analgy," which wasn't swearing, but as Intelli said I was banned for saying "anal," twice. But in the form I used it in, is the same as I've seen others using it in multiple times on the forums since the incident.

Anal generally means they're very exact, and have to have things done a certain way.

I.E. So-and-so was anal about keeping their home clean.

Then again, help bot might be anal about chat cleanliness at all costs, thus shutting down my train of thought D:

This is all really stupid, and I'm pretty sure it's convinced me to leave this server.

A couple days ago I got forum warned for reporting a spam post that disappeared by the time Rokkrwolf got to it - sorry for trying to help you guys out.

While playing on this server and mining, I constantly fear that I've mined too many diamonds or gold blocks and leave them behind because I don't want the time I've already invested this server to go to waste because some script with unknown threshholds runs and determines that I got too lucky.

With the addition of this 'help' bot that's banning people for using a completely innocent word, I'm done. I don't want to invest more time here to have it fly away because of some poorly written java.

Intelli, please add word boundaries to your regex, you'll find that as you add words to your blacklist that your server will get slower and slower. Unless you account for every case of input, people will find a way around it, and even then people will find a way around it. Stuff like this is an excercise in futility and a waste of CPU cycles on your server.

If you absolutely must do it, just do a regex replace on the string - banning people is a complete overreaction.

The community at large was doing a good enough job, I don't understand why you thought this would be a good idea.

I just miss the server so much, I never tried to compare jailbird to me, I just said "I guess that's sort of the same case," because it seemed similar but if it's nothing like it then I understand. I am still sorry and still was sorry. I just want to be unbanned so I can come back to the server and prove my worthiness Intelli... Please forgive me.

Probably the most dedication and truth is being put into this appeal (AFTER the apologies for the lie and misunderstanding...). I'm on Mumble with him CONSTANTLY and he is more than definitely heart-broken. He realized his mistake, apologized, and is more than certain that he can and WILL show the capacity of respect he has.

Okay, now as nearly all of you overlooked what I posted, I think I should stop being soft about your feelings.

People are banned as the server rules state and how Intellli makes them. People are also Unbanned if a admin sees they are fit to be unbanned.
Now, in the whole of that process, if you are not a Mod/Admin/Owner your opinions on if the player is nice or not doesn't matter.
All you are doing by posting your opinions, quoting other peoples opinions to argue with, and other pointless stuff is spam. It just clutters up the topic with pointless posts and makes it harder to navigate.

_B3ast_ this applies to you as well, even though you seem to evade everything I post like it doesn't matter.

Ok, I tried to listen to Cannabin0l's request to not post on his appeal, but I got to put this out there.

For 1: Cannabin0l is a nice kid (there you go S2, you got that sentence) he's never been greedy in my eyes, always giving some lower prices to "newbs" (not "noobs").

For 2: everyone first denies his problem/mistake, it's the natural way of processing/realising your problem/mistake. He went through this step and moved on to the next one: admitting it. Now the next step is for himself and the community to accept what he did and get rational again.

For 3: Jailbird did got un-banned right after he got banned, he didn't had to make an appeal at all. This alone makes me suspect that MineRealm is getting a little bit corrupt.

For 4: people have been un-banned for way worse than this (read: Kress91 and others).

For 5: before the helpbot, mods were way less anal (cwhutididthere) about this. They would give 2 warnings then kick you, than after that kick, if you would keep swearing you would get a ban. So from that prospective the helpbot was way to radical. Why to radical? Most people will know this but some functions just can't be replaced by a bot. Imagine a cop being replaced by a robot, that won't work. Why? Well every situation is different and you need common sense (something a bot doesn't have atm) to make the right decisions.

Ending: Yes I might have spit alot of venom in the post in some peoples eyes but I had to put it out here. A little tip for Intelli (no hate or offence meant at all): Keep your system straight because this topic is eating your fundaments atm.

Both you and Cannabin are being pretty ignorant, in trying to label jailbird556 in the same way.

Jailbird556 was banned for saying "Analogy" (which is not what Cannabin was banned for), which is not considered a swear word, and for this reason, he was unbanned immediately.

*EDIT (Added to First Page)* I never tried to compare jailbird to me, I understand fully that what happened to jailbird WAS a bug, and what happened to me was a rightful ban of which I deserved. That's why I'm apologizing as well.

In addition, _b3ast_ doesn't mean any harm. I think he's just tired of me saying "Whyyyyy god whyyyy," every 5 minutes on Mumble (probably what's added to it anyways).
