No. The ban was 100% fair and even. The bot will ban you for saying anything it considers a swear twice. Anyone who used the A-word twice got banned. It does not get any fairer than that. The people who didn't get banned were the ones who noticed that the help-bot had gone swearing-nazi mode and stopped provoking it.

Anyone getting a ban for swearing from the help bot has to earn it. It should of been immediately apparent that it was going to ban for those 4 letters regardless of what sentence or word they are in and that you should stop using them. Pretty simple.

This is a message that I tried to get across to the people in chat saying something that the bot will warn you for on purpose.
It's a lot like taunting a dog on a chain, then running off giggling like little school girls. But when it gets off the chain and bights you, you cry at the owner for having it.
Basic message: Don't test the bot.

Also, getting others to do it is against the rules. People who promote provoking the bot will have worse consequences coming to them than the people they have convinced to do it.

Cerevox please remember this is my appeal. If I asked you "Did I once say that this ban was unfair," no. Once I realized the seriousness of this, I apologized and noticed the wrong in my ways.

However, what you said is not 100% true. Jailbird got banned for doing it as well, but he was unbanned immediately for some reason that is beyond me. A few people thought that was a reason I should be unbanned, but it's not. I could care less if Jailbird wasn't made to write an appeal, I did mess this up on my own and it's my own duty to appeal for it. Whatever someonee says I thank him for his support, but I did deserve the ban.

I am sincere in my apology, and I wouldn't be sorry if I thought it was an unjust ban. s2, and cerevox have both traveled slightly off topic in replying to what someonee said, let's please stick to my appeal and the things I've stated. I am sorry, and that's what is being considered right now to my knowledge. Others posts shouldn't matter.

From what I understand, jailbird was unbanned because he said analogous twice. You however said analogous once and then the 4 letter A-word. That means you actually did swear while jailbird did not, which is why he was unbanned immediately, while those who used the 4 letter A-word were not unbanned and instead had to appeal.

Despite the fact that you were clearly not using it as a swearword either time, arguing with the bot is a fairly dumb move.

Wrongest statement on here. Ban appeals are greatly effected by other posts. Considering most of the posts are supporting your unbanning, you should probably stop complaining about them. It was stupid of you to provoke the help bot, but it was clear you were not swearing.

This is all really stupid, and I'm pretty sure it's convinced me to leave this server.

A couple days ago I got forum warned for reporting a spam post that disappeared by the time Rokkrwolf got to it - sorry for trying to help you guys out.

While playing on this server and mining, I constantly fear that I've mined too many diamonds or gold blocks and leave them behind because I don't want the time I've already invested this server to go to waste because some script with unknown threshholds runs and determines that I got too lucky.

With the addition of this 'help' bot that's banning people for using a completely innocent word, I'm done. I don't want to invest more time here to have it fly away because of some poorly written java.

Intelli, please add word boundaries to your regex, you'll find that as you add words to your blacklist that your server will get slower and slower. Unless you account for every case of input, people will find a way around it, and even then people will find a way around it. Stuff like this is an excercise in futility and a waste of CPU cycles on your server.

If you absolutely must do it, just do a regex replace on the string - banning people is a complete overreaction.

The community at large was doing a good enough job, I don't understand why you thought this would be a good idea.

*EDIT* Not to mention I wasn't arguing with it, nor provoking it. I was simply pointing out a bug in what triggers the swearing script. It was dumb to say it more then once however whether I was using it offensively or not. I apologized, and I'm not badmouthing the support, I just don't like how you and s2 replied to someonee's post like it was my own. I understand that what i did was wrong, therefor you don't need to tell someonee that it was wrong because the person appealing already knows that.

You've misconceived what I meant. I meant that someonee's support for my appeal should not have any variable, for he doesn't speak for me when he says "I think it's extremely wrong for him to be banned and not others," those are his words, yet you guys responded to it like they were my words. Perhaps if he weren't vouching for me, and said "This player deserves to stay banned." then placed reasoning behind it, then I can understand it being greatly considered. But what he said in favor of my appealing were not my words, therefor I do not stand by everything he said.

As you can see above, aguy also replied to it as if I was the one who said it. He said "Like I said Cannabin0l, might." after quoting what someonee said, and what you said. My name was no where in there, but it was semi-associated with me for that reason. My thoughts and apology is/are on the first page, and throughout the comments posted under the username "Cannabin0l."
