Nobody should be banned, because they killed someone who had their PVP on. If you don't want to die, don't turn on PVP, pretty simple. If they were doing organized PVP, yes I'd say that was illegal, if "PVP'ing" is illegal in the trade room. But I would say they were more being "opportunists" who were taking advantage of foolish people who leave their pvp on, then come to trade with valuables (I have died at their hands, too, and I just say touche). IMO, as long as they don't enter trade rooms, or go there for the purpose of fighting an enemy who is expecting them, it is perfectly acceptable. They were just looting people who deserved it. In the end they teach you a hard lesson to leave your PVP off, and they profit from it.

I don't normally propose ignorance as a valid defense but it seems in this case the accused had pretty much no chance of being aware that pvp against people with pvp turned on was restricted in some zones.

Okay, Point taken. But there's also no "Rule" saying that we shoulden't make giant penises, Nazi symbols, or Pixel art porn at spawn. But It's one of thoose things that your like, Hmm... Should i do this?
