Bennylava, once you appeal it should be easy to argue for your un-banning. but you need an official appeal request and the rules are not clear regarding proxy appeals.(it would be nice if they were *hinthint*)

If you can't make an intelligent appeal of why the evidence is faulty, you just failed the preliminary server IQ test.
Try again in a few years.

Ok, nevermind. Im just blind. This is an appeal thread. I just saw terrance's post and ran with it. I am not quite sure what else he could do to appeal it, since the ban itself appears to have been based on an erroneous log, which isn't a bannable offense in the first place. If that is what the log shows, it would be impossible to tell between kicks for shift building and kicks for actual flying.

And sadly, intelligence isn't a requirement to play on the server. I would go ahead and un-ban him. It looks to me like the banner just jumped the gun and hit an innocent.

I would think that you of all people would have noticed that the log says he was kicked a dozen times in less than a second for "flying".

I did comment on the time span in an earlier post, although for some bizarre reason i was thinking it was in under a minute rather than under a second.

Either way it doesn't effect my point that the log doesn't have any details beyond the fact that he was kicked for it. If it had the location of the player we could perhaps go look at it and see if he was flying over an ocean or if he was standing on the edge of a 1/2 completed building, which would make a difference.

All i get from the time span is that the server took multiple tries to kick him or repeated itself which I assume means it was lagging. Am i being retarded and missing something obvious?

You can unban someone because the error was made, but you can't just jump to that conclusion either, because it might actually be correct. The fact of the matter is, that there needs to be some recourse by the accused, otherwise, you can't have any clear judgment on what happened, or if the person in mind needs to be kept off or on server.

Ah. So it wasn't just that log, it was instead a long series of logs and that was simply a sample. In that case, I would want to know what he was building, and if he can't produce a building that has a roof of half tiles or something similar that could explain numerous flying kicks, then its safe to assume the only other option is flying.

I honestly don't buy the whole half tile excuse. Most of the buildings I've made used half tile roofs and I've never been kicked for flying. But hey, maybe I'm just the lucky one.
