My second choice for a station is nostalgic 90's hits. Well, nostalgic to me and most others in their 20s.

Qualifications: Co-hosted a radio show in college a few years back with my friend who is now a DJ on WEGW. So I already have an idea how the professional world of radio works. (Did you know when you hear a DJ on the radio, it's usually pre-recorded?)
I use to play dj when I was like 10. Well it was pretty much me playing music on our stereo for my mom when she cleaned. I used to be cool.

Why you deserve this position: I listen to music almost constantly when I'm playing. Relaxing instrumental music mixed in with some more upbeat tunes works the best. Also I have the aforementioned experience in real life radio.

A couple other ideas to keep it fun --
∙ Commercial parodies for things in Minecraft a la Grand Theft Auto radio... imagine a used-car-salesman-like character desperately trying to sell Gold armor
∙ Breaking news updates between songs... Spawn griefing, alleged stealing, and my favorite "Creeper warning at spawn!"
∙ Commercial for a fake Entertainment Tonight show parodying other drama in Minerealm like the Lightbulbs controversy
∙ Weather updates, and so forth

(You know what, If I don't end up DJing, I'm probably still going to produce these for someone else's station)

Availability: I work most of the day Sunday through Tuesday and sometimes Wednesdays, but I can be available in the late evenings (EDT). Available for live broadcasting during the day on Thursday and Friday (sometimes Wednesdays) and late at night. A few nights when I'm into a building project, I'll be playing until the 3am server reboot if I don't have work the next day.

Anything else you wish to add: My interest in being a DJ depends on how the station(s) is set up. If Minerealm is hosting and wants me to throw my playlists up with some soundbites with occassional live broadcasting, I would definitely like to do that.

This is a really great app, i for one would be happy for you to be a DJ. But you must remember to include the occasional nuclear missile warning...

Sounds like you would be a cool DJ especially with the other stuff such as the commercial parodies, entertainment tonight, etc.

The only thing I don't like is that your music selection is restricted considerably. Sure, some of that instrumental stuff is nice, but I listen to more electronica and dance than I do that. It would be cool if you made it to where you did different genres at different times, like you could at one time do the instrumental stuff, then another time you could throw in some Noisecontrollers, Quantam Dubstep, DJ Raaban, or Nightcore. Then some other time you could squeeze in some 80's, then some more modern metal. That's just some of my favorite stuff, but feel free to exercise your powers as DJ and look up some music for yourself to play.
