Well, I am aware that there are some coding 'geniouses' on this server, that might be able to help me get started. I want to know how to be able to code simple programs using Java. (Or something else, I really don't care). So my question is:Where do I get started? Is there a website you could recommend for me? I would appreciate if it was free, as I'm only a kid still xD. But yeah, I just pretty much want to know where to start, and what things to install.
Thanks,
~Guad

Depends what you want to code.

The best way to learn is to have a goal / something in mind that you want to make. So for example, googling "How to create a Bukkit plugin" would be a good place to start.

In order to make (program) anything you must start somewhere. I suggest Installing Eclipse and learning the basics. To learn you can check out the "official" Java tutorials at http://docs.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/, Or pick up a book like "java for dummies". There isn't really a set way to learn, everyone learns differently at there own pace. Once you learn the basics I'd do what Intelli said and start thinking about what sort of programming you really want to do. There are a lot of resources out there to help you along the way. When in doubt Google problems you run into, chances are that someone has already encountered the same problem and have found a good solution.

In your case with wanting to create a game I would as I stated above learn the basics (and beyond) first, then I would start looking into things like www.lwjgl.org. Game programming isn't very easy though, all depends on your dedication to learning Java and the type of game you wish to create. A simple number guessing game is a good start.

Just my .03 cents

If you want to start VERY simple, there are programs such as 'gamemaker' which will teach you the fundamentals of programming and data manipulation before you move onto actual code language.

I know I started learning the basics of C++ from thenewboston on youtube. In C++ my goal was to make a fully functional chess game, because it had almost every concept of coding.
