Fun topic(ish thing) about what it would be like not being able to say copyrighted things. (Yes I know it doesnt say anything about something like this, but it could very soon turn into that, CONGRESS PEOPLES).

I read a lot of the bill, and I just want to clarify a few things.

If a domain is deemed as "dedicated to infringing activities", then what happens is the name server is required to prevent the hypertext link to direct the user to the associated IP address. Meaning, that if you google search something and click the link, they will redirect you. However, if you manually enter the IP address of the website, then it's fine.

No, let them implement this new anti piracy system. Within a week, internet addicts with mental problems will have taken down the entire system, and possibly have attempted to kill the people who started this bill.

If they block the domain, you edit your host's file or change to a non-censoring DNS.

If they block the ip, you connect through a proxy.

If they use deep pack inspection and block specific types of content, you connect through a VPN.

If they block all encrypted traffic that isn't to a white listed server, then people will just hack the white listed servers and route their illegal traffic through them.

They'll never succeed and copyright holders should just focus on better business models to make their content more convenient than piracy. Them doing things like disallowing their content on services such as Hulu and Netflix is incredibly moronic and pushes people toward piracy.
