Basically, what happened was Schrodinger put a cat inside a box with a bottle of poison that would break at a random time. The cat was not monitored in any way. Until someone opened the box, you can think of the cat as dead and alive.
Well, today I realized that going into the Nether is kind of like Schrodinger's Cat.
If someone spawned a bunch of ghasts near a player in the Nether at a random time, this would simulate the bottle of poison. If the person in the Nether dies and ends up at spawn, he is "dead", but if he lives and comes out of the portal, he is "alive", but you would never know if he was dead or alive because the person is never monitored, therefore, he would be thought of as dead and alive.
Well, that is just my thinking.
