If that vid is any indication of GTAV fun I think I'll stick to Just Cause 2 thanks.
It looks exactly like GTAIV.....
I dont think that thats necessarily a bad thing. I really loved GTA IV and while this seems like a rehash for some people, we're getting so much more than we did with IV. I love the fact that there's actually wildlife in the game. the map is much larger than IV, and activities themselves have been greatly improved and expanded upon. The only disappointing thing about it is that its console exclusive atm. As much a devout PC gamer as I am, (hell its only in the title) I still feel I have to play certain games with a controller even though keyboard is obviously superior. Good thing for controller emulators or whatever they're called. Its pathetic seeing how meh the graphics are for IV on the PS3 and then looking at it on PC which I recently bought during the steam sale. The textures are so much more crisp, theres really no comparison and there never will be. However I'm fine with playing V on the PS3 for now.
Also about driving, hopefully it wont be ANYTHING like LA Noire I remember how excited I was to start playing it on release day when I should've been studying for finals and the game starts you out driving the police car and I was shocked at how sensitive the car movements were. It felt very odd and it put me off wanting to drive, I guess there was more than one reason they allowed you to make your partner drive to each destination. Don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed LA Noire and its unique game premise. Its been too long since we had a game like this thats been done right. The whole time playing it I couldnt help but be reminded of the Dick Tracy NES AVGN review. I'd always wondered if James had ever played LA Noire after that horrible experience hehe That was finally the mystery solving game he was asking for! Regardless the driving in IV was more realistic and hopefully driving a car in V wont feel like literally controlling a toy car with your hand. (even though thats technically what youre doing I suppose)
*Assassins Creed 3 Spoilers ahead*
Other than that really looking forward to picking the latest and hopefully greatest from Rockstar up at midnight come monday. Also really looking forward to black flag and simply the environment the game throws you into. I may be pelted with soiled napkins for saying this but I really didnt care for the ship mini game in AC3, and its supposed to be an even bigger part of AC4 hopefully it doesnt frustrate too much, and hopefully you'll also be able to emerse yourself a bit more in the game environment the devs so meticulously created. AC3 as I'm sure anyone whose played it would know had way too much handholding and overall restriction. Connor made me want to shoot bunnies with buckshot at pointblank, he was so horrifically bland. Ezio was a much more dynamic character, he started off being an immature full of himself boy interested only in women and fighting. Then you saw him mature into an adult who was capable of leading confidently and had a sense of honor and responsibility and from time to time even humor. All of which connor didnt express one bit. Connor had one emotion, (angry at white man who killed my mother and am also angry with my father for invading indian land) It would make for an interesting story if Connor was actually more than 1 dimensional but he wasnt. Hatham Kenway was a much more interesting lead and what made it even more disappointing is when you stopped playing as him. All in all I just hope that AC4's lead which is interestingly enough Hatham's ancestor is much more three-dimensional than Connor. I've been waiting for a good pirate themed game to come along and hopefully AC4 will deliver. If nothing else I'll love being placed in a that detailed world of dimly lit gas lamps, three cornered hats, booty, and rum in which I'll be able to feel like a bad mother rather than some sniveling welp that everyone just talks down to.
I hadn't realized I'd written so much. Congratulations if you made it through. Rant over.
