Need some help here. Got myself a new computer and tried to play minecraft on it for the first time. Now i'm getting this graphical issue. Anyone know what is causing this?

EDIT: It appears not just to be minecraft. I very rarely get a tiny amount of this when scrolling through a web page.

You might have the wrong version of java installed, just check to see if it's the right one.
I've had problems because 32 bit java was installed on my 64 bit machine.

Thanks for pointing that out to me. I assumed it was something to do with the mouse or keyboard 0_o

Thanks, I did infact have a 32 bit version installed. Got the 64 bit version now but still have the problem.

There may have been an issue when downloading Minecraft. Try re-installing it, this time, make sure to run it as an administrator as to bypass the firewall which may interfere with the installation. The firewall may also be blocking a few other things as well. You should make sure it's not blocking anything it's not suppose to. (try turning it off for a short time then trying what you were doing before) Hopefully it fixes at least the graphical issue. The Issues with the web page may be your browser, your internet connection, or just issues with the software on your computer. If it's too significant you should make sure there's no hardware or software issues, too.
Also, so long as the firewall is down, be sure to be cautious as to which sites you visit.
If that doesn't work, I don't know what else could be causing it other than a possible virus or virus protection software that may be interfering with the program.
I dunno. Based on what I can tell, if it's not the graphics card, or Java, then it might be your computer.
Or your monitor if you're using a desktop.
It may also be an issue based on a various color schemes.
I don't really have much to go on, though, just by the description. Updating the graphics card and re-installing java should fix those errors.

This issue you're seeing is known as "tearing," and it happens for a few reasons.

1. Your monitor cable could simply be a bit loose, either where it's connected to your graphics card, or where it's connected to your monitor.

2. Your graphics card drivers could be out of date, but in this case you have already updated them. So that isn't the problem in this case.

3. Your graphics card may need to be reseated. Meaning it just needs to be unplugged from the motherboard and plugged back in.

4. This is the worst case scenario and it has happened to me. Your graphics card could be bad, or dying. Chances are, if your computer is new, your graphics card is just bad. It happens, especially with RAM.

I had the same exact problem as you with my graphics card. I would see tearing while playing Red Alert 3. I checked all the cables, updated drivers and everything. Nothing worked so I had to just get a new graphics card and it cleared up the tearing.

Another possibility, is it an ATI card?
ATI are hopeless at making universal drivers and you can quite often find 3rd party updates in the communities section of ATI's site, or hotfixes as they call them :p

After reading about "tearing" I think I have found what the problem is. The refresh rate of the monitor I was using was only 50hz.

Well, running a GTX 680 on a 50hz monitor, is that the problem?
