Personally, I think its not really much more than the PS4 on the hardware side also there seems to be nothing specifically outstanding that makes me want to go and order one (Maybe the skype stuff, but thats only a minor feature). It feels very much like the conference is extremely over exaggerated in terms of the words 'revolutionary' and 'breakthrough' being used constantly. The games announced so far are nothing new (EDIT: COD with "all new characters!", making it "totally new!" and with a "dog to become attached to!") and it seems that all this TV guide jabber is just a way of adding value to the product in order to reap more profits.

I know I'm being totally biased against the Xbox here (The guy wearing two watches made me feel the need to post this xD), but feel free to portray some more positive thoughts etc. here.

The only experience I can share is that of Windows media center on Windows Vista. In short, I didn't like it. It was buggy, relatively useless, confusing, and simply didn't feel right on a desktop computer. I believed its intended use was for connecting to local on-air tv stations (given that you have the right peripherals), and possibly link your computer's display output to you Xbox or directly to a larger tv. And all of that is just more trouble than it's worth. I feel if the next gen Xbox includes a tv guide, it would be inconvenient and unreliable. There are already plenty of TV guides around the internet.

I think if they want a revolutionary system, they need developers. Use the apple app store as inspiration. But I guess that's what PC gaming is for.

Anyway, I haven't heard or seen anything about the Xbox one and neither have I kept in the loop with recent technology. However, I did see that the ps4 will have some 16 or 32 times the amount of memory the ps3 offers. I was amazed to find that current gaming consoles have just 256 MB of memory. Maybe that's why my NBA all-star is dribbling a polyhedron instead of a sphere.

I used to be a hardcore xbox fan, but this.... I puked when i looked at the looks of the object and the mutilated controller, disgusting. The only good thing i really see is the usb 3.0 and the 8 cores.

I'm gonna get one for sure, I'm an achievement hunter and the machine is definitely ridiculously more powerful than the previous generation. The only downside is that it's not backwards compatible, which means it will likely be a while before i bother buying one, as I've got a backlog of 360 games to get through first.

As far as PS4 goes, I've always felt that PS3 vs XBOX was basically bluray player vs non-free-but-significantly-better online

now that they both have bluray and i can afford $100/yr it's kinda a no-brainer.

Historically, playstation has had more titles I've been interested in. Final Fantasy, Disgaea, Ni no Kuni, uh... Ar Tonelico... Yeah, I like RPGs. Whereas xbox... hasn't really had anything I wanted to play that wasn't also on ps3 or pc.
