I agree that this thread isn't the best place for this, but what do you want me to do? Start a "sexism thread"? No one would take it seriously, just like no one takes sexism itself seriously. Except, you know, people who are actually affected by it. A man saying that something sexist isn't a big deal is like someone who isn't developmentally delayed saying that it's fine to say r<censored>, or someone white saying that it's okay to say n<censored>.

It is a problem. I don't deny it. But we can't just blow up a public argument every time it occurs. We have our own morals, and we would like others to be considerate of them. I understand. I guard my Buddy chat with a tyrannical rule against swearing. But we have to realize that other people have their own moral code that can be completely contradictory to our own. A comment made by one party can be taken to have a completely different or overlooked meaning that can be found highly offensive to another party.
This is where the community aspect of Minerealm should have taken affect. That we calmly work out any misunderstanding or blatant attack to benefit all parties and sadly this didn't happen.
I hope we can all learn from this.

I have no clue how many times I need to say this, but it's considered PVP logging, to what I've been told, when the other person dies from somebody PVP logs to use to invulnerability. I was just logging off to save myself from losing all my things.

Correct me if I'm wrong here tepig, but you logged to save your items via death from another player?

Anyone sexist could say the same. Racist people could the same. Hell, Hitler could've said the same. YOUR. VIEW. IS. UNACCEPTABLE. What part of that do you not get?

Saying something sexist is one thing. We've all done it one time or another. But refusing to admit that you've done something sexist is REALLY REALLY BAD.

While it was unfortunate that this had to happen, some views are simply wrong. It isn't just a matter of being offensive. Bu1l could have called me an idiot with a face so ugly it made him vomit and I wouldn't have cared as much as I care about this. Every time someone says something sexist like it isn't a big deal, sexism gets more firmly embedded into their brain. And stopping that from happening is one of the most important things you can do.

And I didn't "blow it out of proportion". I just said that it was sexist. Then you proceeded to get defensive about it, and that's when I started getting mad.

If you could just admit that you accidentally said something sexist, the problem would be gone! I would forgive you! It would be over! But I can't just say "okay, whatever" when someone is doing something bad and denying it!
