Honestly though, it can sometimes be fun to troll trolls, by the definition of troll anyways. When someone comes online and starts saying "this server sux" or "i did something to all your moms," many respond in a similar way with attempted insults.

Over time, it gets annoying. The easiest way to kill a troll is to shoot as many insults as possible at them at once (hoping one of them may be true and will actually emotionally hurt the troll) or to say nothing so they give up. They troll because they expect a response. Or their intentions are to actually make you feel bad, in which case they have a personal, moral problem.
