Shouldn't the people of Canada be called Canadans (Can-a-dans) rather than Canadians? The country is called Canada, not Canadia.

China --> Chinese, Not Chinans
U.K --> British, not Englandans or United Kingdomans
Germany --> Germans, not Germanans
Spain --> Spaniards, not Spainans
Scotland --> Scots, not Scotlandans
New Zealand --> Well, I'm not really sure. Kiwis? Definitely not New Zealandans.

Germany is just a contraction with ans on the end. And I knew all this already.... But Canada is a special case.
