Anyway guys, tell it to me straight. Is S4 worth watching? Like, is it S2 quality (excellent), S1 quality (good), S3 quality (bad), or abysmal? I've not got as much free time as I used to and I need to spend it well.
And, last of all, Skylord, what is your signature referring to?
S4 has been, in my opinion at least, really enjoyable. Haven't really had a duff episode so far...
More geared towards the fans than previous seasons. More world building and continuity based on previous seasons. Some call backs from previous seasons.
More facial expressions, more shading and use of different palette tones.
Discord as a returning character, less evil perhaps than his first outing, but just as chaotic, more of a trickster character.
Some cool scenes between Celestia and Nightmare Moon in the season premiere.
Concerns addressed about Twilight becoming a princess, bottom line is that hasn't changed her core character that much, still just as neurotic.
An special guest appearance by Weird Al Yankovic, a musical episode far superior to the S3 finale.
Whilst there are filler episodes, there appears to be more of an over arching season plot with several themes.
A new framing device for the friendship letters which feels more organic.
Any grips? Not many to be truthful, they do more episodes which involve all of the mane 6 being which does lead to questions of whether all of them were needed for the story.
There are a few more risks and curve balls thrown as the episode story line takes different paths from expected.
I would say that the quality is excellent overall.
