I always remember a quote from my secondary school maths teacher "10 soldiers wisely led can beat 100 without a head".
In minecraft terms, get 10 (or just one) in diamond armour, and 100 with nothing and see whether that is correct.

I haven't seen a single imperial member without diamond armor and a diamond sword and most of us have enchanted weapons/armor so.....
