Anybody know if the new plank colors can be used to make different colored slabs, workbenches, doors, and stairs?

at work and can't pull you up a link sorry, but AFAIK you can't make different coloured slabs. I saw it on reddit. Probably the same with the other wood-based recipes. They just end up the default oak colour.
