Your insurance company will not pay for it.
The proprietors of the establishment are the only ones currently running the restaurant, and they can't exactly sue themselves. The area behind the counter is marked as an "Employees Only" area, so anyone who is actually able to get back there will not have a case, as they were not meant to be in the room in the first place.
I see your point. Who was the foreman/Head Contractor of this project? He is to blame and must fix this wrong immediately if the owner is to have employees.

That is impossible you cannot be an employer with no employees. You yourself do not count. That is a self run business. Unless you have an actual employee you are not an employer.
Still you must block direct access to the open flame to avoid a safety lawsuit. Let me tell you sir you do not want to do that.

Make sure he is not clumsy if you won't follow the rules.

When the employee is hired he is not to be made to sign a waiver and he must have a tour of the working areas.

Umm I work there too, so essentially i can be classified as as an employee.

No one can get hurt by the fire anyway as there is a block on top. This means that the only way to get hurt by it would be to remove the block and walk into it, which currently only Shampoo and myself could anyway.
