I have cousins in oregon. They say when it snows even an inch, the schools close. Here in southeastern michigan, a foot of snow would not be enough to close schools. It would take ice-y roads to do the job.

There's probably an average of 2 or 3 snow days per year around here. I'm sure they would close school more often, but they simply can't since teachers have a schedule.

Many of you might think that most of Australia never gets snow because it's eternally 500 degrees Celsius.
But for one or two days in July my house gets covered in a centimetre or so of snow.
I'd post pictures but I'm tired and can't be bothered trying to find one in my cluttered hard drive.

This is why I see so many foreigners skiing at Heavenly in Tahoe California, because they do not get any snow. They are quite amazed at teh amount we get.
Once I get a chance to go up to Northstar Ill get photos of me on my board, I'm so exited for this season
